    Hi,

That's even better if they are ongoing as you can discuss what is happening right now and what will directly have an impact on us as trainee teachers, they time the presentations quite strictly so don't worry too much or try to pack too much in, the main thing here is they're not too fussed on what the issue actually is, it's more a test of how well you can communicate it. There are plenty of issues, check the TES forum, BBC Education, etc.

    I hope that helps.
thanks for your help with the group discussion what is actually discussed is it a debate about your opinions on the issue or just a discussion about what you know about the issue? im also a bit confused about this for the presentation do we just have to present what we know or express and opinion? also what questions were asked in the individual interview?

    thanks again

Re: MMU PGCE Primary Interview 2011
I have just accepted MMU as my CF on UCAS and now I need to sort out my accommodation,
I am doing a Primary Education course on the Didsbury Campus but i do not want to stay in the Broomhurst halls, i dont fancy being catered for or sharing bathrooms,
I have being told that the next closest halls would be in all saints as the bus stops are close and they are regular but i havent seen any of them and i dont know which is the best to go for?
Is anybody else going to the didsbury campus but not stopping at broomhurst. I am starting to panic now and dont know if i have made a mistake putting MMU as my CF as i dont know if the accommodation is going to be good for me!
    HELP PLEASE!

Why would it be a mistake picking MMU just because of the halls?

Why not look at a flat share/house share in Didsbury? I'm sure there will be loads, think that's what I'll be doing anyway.

It's just a pre-course task on effective learning and teaching, its only 500 words so it can't be to bad (i hope!) I'm going to the induction day tomorrow but i'm not sure what i need to bring?

    Hi All,

Congratulations for those of you that have been offered a place. I'm thinking of apply for PGCE Primary at MMU for next year (2013). I am just in the process of getting experience within a primary school. For those of you that have been offered a place, please could you tell me how much work experience you did before you applied? And did you do all your work experience within one school or did you go to a few?
    Would really appreciate your help.

Induction day was really good! The tutors seem great and was really nice to be able to meet everyone before september. Also got chance to speak to last year's pgce students and they gave us loads of advice do's and dont's sort of thing.
Hiya Awan before being offered a place i had done some bits of volunteering in various schools but I found getting a job in a school has really helped. I started work as a cover supervisor in a local high school and although pay is **** it gives you the opportunity to gain some experience for your application but also it made me certain that i really want to be a teacher. I originally applied for a primary pgce and found it extremely competitive, more so than a lot other pgce courses so i think you'll need as much experience and a variety of experience as you can get. In a lot of university's as well they get more places later on in the year and I rang up and managed to get on the reserve list which then turned into a permanent place so its worth pestering them! hope this helps

    cheers, lally

    Thanks. That's helpful.

So did they originally say no to you, but then later on offered you a place? If so that's great!
Do you know if MMU have a minimum amount of days they require for General Primary? they don't specify on their website.

    Thanks again!
