P.T.O.

We look on Open Days as a vital opportunity for applicants and their parents to find out all about life at Lancaster University and the courses we offer. We sincerely hope that your time at Lancaster will be enjoyable as well as informative. If you have time, we would also encourage you to visit the picturesque but lively city of Lancaster and the beautiful countryside that surrounds it.

Travelling By Train

Some local education authorities are prepared to give grants covering your expenses: please enquire at your school or your county education office. If you are travelling by rail, we advise you to ask at your local railway station about cohort fares and a Young Person's Railcard.

Travelling By Road

Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 33 and take the A6 north towards Lancaster. After about one and a half miles, having passed through Galgate Village, you will see the University buildings to the right of the road. Turn right at the second set of traffic lights into the University's main drive. Take the third exit from the roundabout, continue on the perimeter road until you reach Gillow Avenue. The Management School is on the left.

N.B. Visitors to "UCAS Open Days" may park anywhere on the campus perimeter road. You should display your orange parking ticket in your vehicle and all parking on Open Days is free of charge.

If you arrive early, this would be an ideal opportunity for you to visit Lancaster and perhaps have lunch. There are many varied eating establishments - those most frequented by students are Chicago Rock Café, Wetherspoons and Walkabout Inn although there are plenty of others, including numerous restaurants and fast food outlets.
