I'm pretty sure it's simply this:

These men come from a culture wherein women are considerably more conservative, and they're taught this is the way women are supposed to act.
White girls, rightly or wrongly, are seen as more promiscuous, what with the portrayal of celebrities and the like, and certainly don't dress in the same conservative way.
This therefore creates an image in a tiny number of men from that community that these women, as they don't behave as women are "supposed" to, don't deserve the same degree of respect.

That's my opinion on how this happens. I'm not saying all muslim men think like that, cos they obviously don't. Nor do I say women shouldn't dress however they like, indeed they OBVIOUSLY should be able to dress, act and do whatever they damn right please.

Thoughts? Critical analysis beyond simply "you're wrong" would be good if you disagree.

You've ggot a great point but honestly these guys are sick. Just like all rapist, they like women for different reasons. You can't just say, its because they're promiscuous... We, decent people don't know what's running through their minds.

Ok so, Pakistani men are highly over represented in rape gangs statistics and prosecutions, people offer their own experience with this type of behaviour (my own sister has been curb crawled by Pakistanis in cars before, and she doesn't dress like a slag), even Pakistani's on this forum admit to the problem within their community, yet you list a few unrelated aspects of what constitutes Pakistani culture in order to trivialize the issue, and therefore there is no problem in reality within the Pakistani community derived from Pakistani culture...

I haven't denied that Pakistanis are over-represented in these crimes. However, I don't think it is a result of Pakistani culture, anymore than I think the UK riots were a result of White or Black culture.

It's around 20 for me, Split with friends. I agree they shouldn't be targeted by anyone but realistically there is probably a link between Asians and gang rape, but that's all it is. There's a link between the seasonal flu vaccine and cancer. Doesn't mean it's true. For example clubs around here there are usually a few black men in cars. Fair enough....its the same for Asians in other peoples cities. It wont change, rapists are rapist. Catch them and give them harsh punishments and that's the problem sorted.

If the girl covered up a bit more she would have a much lower chance of being targeted. These girls who go out in their see through tops and skirts that barely go over their knickers have it coming their way the moment they step outside, and obviously they don't deserve to get raped, nobody does, but they don't exactly help themselves do they? And anyway, I still think people should get taxis, especially women; unfortunately we don't live in that kind of country where you can stroll around at night without a care in the world.
