I would probably explode if Soundgarden is the third headliner, been rumored for the last two years and desperately need a trip to Europe next summer.

Same. I hope they announce it soon, I'd cry if I missed out on SG. I'm not a major fan of the others, but Metallica are supposedly amazing live and it sounds like a blast (though lars is lazy) and I appreciate how influential Black Sabbath are...pretty sure SG were big fans...

this true, if so source? the rumours I saw on the last fm event page were that van halen was playing.

If prodigy is true, I don't like them, so it blows. I want to see black sabbath SO SO SO SO SO much, but at £180 a weekend ticket I need some other acts I WANT to see, instead of ones I would see if I was there but am indifferent to either way.

Looking at last years line up it was awful. Alice Cooper, SOAD and The darkness would be the only ones to interest me, and I still wouldn't pay to see them on their own, only if they were support acts.

As said earlier they need someone like Maiden, Priest, Motorhead, Slayer, Porcupine Tree to seal the deal for me.

WHY COULDN'T SABBATH HAVE PICKED BLOODSTOCK?

The only time it has sold out (the last time Prodigy played actually) they increased the capacity and released more tickets. The capacity is now even higher (up to 120,000, maybe 130,000 can't remember). They'll release an initial batch, and then increase up to the maximum accordingly. Should be fine.

Awww not The Prodigy. Already saw them at MK Bowl and they haven't done anything new since then so no point really seeing them twice. Hope the second stage headliner is decent and might get a weekend ticket...

They have new album out next year, it's their only UK show for the year and they will be debuting some tracks off the new album.

Headliners are pretty good! Won't be going though, hoping Soundgarden will be playing Sonisphere. Just wondering, can you get day tickets for Sonisphere?

You could last year, can't remember when they went on sale though. They also increased the arena capacity to add more day tickets as it was selling out. And continued to sell day tickets at the box office over the weekend, where every day eventually sold out (weekend/camping was also sold out). So I wouldn't be surprised to see them sell out earlier this year if they can pull out an awesome line up. I don't think they have much more room to expand, they already added an extra campsite last year, which without expanding the arena, limits day tickets.

Yeah, so I've heard. Should be good! I really like those guys and have yet to see them live.

Not to mention Sabbath!!! And Metallica too. Definitely considering this.

Sonisphere & Download always try to outdo each other-Download get 'DC in '10, Soni get the Big Four in '11, so Download get Sabbath and Metallica in '12. Which means Sonisphere 2013 is gonna be ****ing EPIC.

    Ah, ok, thankyou!
Just wondering, tickets for Soni are usually sold on ticketmaster right? I've never personally bought tix myself online before, but I will if SG are announced. I take it that's quite a reliable trustworthy site?

I remember I booked mine directly through the Sonisphere website - can't remember if it was a ticket vendor system integrated into it or not. But you can be sure booking directly through their website will be reliable and trustworthy. Other sites will probably be selling them, Ticketmaster and Seetickets are 2 of the biggest, both very trustworthy, most major festivals and gigs will sell through them, as well as some smaller ones. There will most likely be a list of websites the organisers have allocated tickets to sell when the tickets go on sale. If the website isn't listed on the Sonisphere website, I wouldn't touch it. Tickets will be the same price on all sites, but delivery and booking fees may vary.

Next announcement 16th January. At least 12 bands to be announced (likely to go up before then).

Expected to be included in the announcement is the sub headliner to The Prodigy, but not confirmed.

metallica playing the black album. How commercial and overrated.

wait, it's download, why am I surprised? cue negs from haters.
You'd fit in quite well then.

14 bands Monday, 4 on Zane Lowe's show. The rest on Dan Carter's. 3 sub-headliners included (though the wording implies they are not 'the' sub-headliners, so I expect a mix of main and second stage subs).

Got my weekend ticket Already. I've seen Metallica twice and they've been awesome both times (and the Black Album live? **** yeah!), and Black Sabbath is making me so exicted I'm in constant need of new pants. I severely hope Tony Iommi doesn't suffer from his cancer and is unable to play It really hit me hard to hear.
