UCAS says Unsuccessful one day after my interview?
I am so upset! I thought I did ok, I tried my best, and they seemed ok with my performance, it was for a Mental Health Nursing course, I just found it really strange that it said unsuccessful one day after my interview, this morning I had a phone call from my boss telling me she had received a letter from the university, explaining how she needed to write me a second reference. Why would they bother sending it if I had not been successful in getting in the university?

What would be the reason for me not getting into the university after an interview
I heard yesterday I was unsuccessful, even after an interview, what would be the reasons for me not getting in, I am gutted and they won't give feedback. I am so upset and paranoid to why I didn't get on the course..It has hit me hard and has made me self conscious, thinking it was because they didn't like me, I honestly thought I did ok, I answered all their questions and did my part in the group interview

Re: What would be the reason for me not getting into the university after an intervie
Sorry to hear that.
Try to keep in mind that there is alot of competition for uni places nowadays; it may have been the strength and numbers of the competition, not any inadequacy on your part that tipped the dice away from you.
It is a shame you can get feedback; it may be worth "staging" an interview with a friend / parent or, ideally, a teacher, to try to address any kinks in your interview techniques that need ironing out. It wont be because they just 'didn't like you'; there will be a reason, and a reason that you can address. Its not the end of the world and you have come out more experienced and better prepared. The fact that it concerns you so much points to the fact that you are the kind of student a uni might want - keep up the caring and you'll get places. -

Re: What would be the reason for me not getting into the university after an intervie
Sorry to hear you didn't get in. Sometimes, even though the universities state that they don't give feedback, if you write them a nice polite actual snail-mail letter, they will. Make sure you put lots of helpful information on it, like your ucas number and email address. It would be really helpful for you to get feedback so you can learn from this time and improve for other interviews.

Re: What would be the reason for me not getting into the university after an intervie
It could not be the interview that the reason in which they could have rejected you - it could be that they think you won't get the grades, or your personal statement/reference isn't good or something like that. Unis can reject you for whatever reason they can.
I'd suggest you contact the Uni because they should have told you so you can improve next time.
