:dito: the concorde was so beautiful indeed... Wonder whether any plane of that type will be build in the next couple of years...

Speaking from a 1st-year (of study at uni) Aero engineer's point of view: absolutely not.

Next 20 years, almost definitely though - once we get an alternative fuel sorted. There's no way a Concorde could be commercially viable at the minute, with the current cost of oil.

Welcome DPM, an air cadet for 6 years and counting.
I stopped being an Air Cadet over a year ago now. But still interested in the whole aviation thing. Looks more likely I'll be jumping out of them rather than flying the aircraft now. Hoping to join the Army as an Infantry Officer. I like military aircraft mainly. Merlins, Sea Kings, Chinooks, I've got something about helicopters.

    A380 news:

The A380 will be landing at LHR - London Heathrow - on the 18th of May 2006, at midday, on runway 27R (I think - 09L if the wind's bad) for airport checking. It will park up at the new A380 gates on T3's Pier 6 while they check LHR can actually support the A380.

No news what paintjob it will be in though, probably not Virgin, since that would require repainting the entire aircraft silver.

Probably with the default Airbus logo?

I can't wait for Singapore to receive its first batch of A380 aircraft. I'll be sure to welcome it with pomp. :p:

I went around the factory that produces the A380 wings today. To be honest it was boring, once you've seen one wing you've seen them all.

I imagine seeing the wings being built can get a little tedious after a while, but I'd still like to see all that metal & composites fly in real life!
