Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 ApplicantsAlso if you can remember any questions they asked I'd really appreciate it(Original post by Geeky Nerd)
It took a while and then i had to book my date online.
Have you checked UCAS?
I had my interview and got an offer so let me know and i'll tell you what you want to know
-
Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 ApplicantsThey do theirs through the post, so i'd check!(Original post by lauraroganxo)
Thank you! No I haven't checked UCAS, I didn't know they offered interviews though them?
they give you a questionnaire which ask you your favourite designers, photographers, illustrators, stylists, graphic designers. What career you wanted to work in, what novels/fashion books you've read and what type of music you like. The interview they just go through the WHOLE of the portfolio including sketchbooks, ask where else i've applied to, why i wanted to do the course, why should they consider me and also the best piece of work that best describes you -
Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 Applicantswhat time was your interview ? how did it go ?!(Original post by abbieabbieabbie)
i have an interview for jewellery on the same day! i think i have about 15 a1 sheets plus sketchbooks, but the email i received says there isn't any specific criteria anyway
i got sent an attatchment with a slide show explaining what they want from you portfolio wise (minimum specific requirements - which is obviously load of crap as one guy in my group only bought a sketchbook) and how each 'art' interview was conducted..! proper stressed me out !
where else have you applied ? what did you think of the middlesex ?

it went really well, he just went through my portfolio and chatted for a bit, then said he was giving me an unconditional
how was yours?!
ah yes i do remember seeing that slide show a while back, i had a different document attached to my email that seemed a bit less strict so that's odd!
i've applied for 3D/crafts courses at uca farnham, bucks new, falmouth and brighton, but i much prefer the course at middlesex so i think i'll be accepting the offer
what about you?

Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 Applicantshi I had my interview for fashion on the 25th and waited for about an hour before I was seen for what felt like 5 minutes. Wasnt really asked many questions at all, just a swift look through my portfolio(Original post by harleyy)
I have an interview for fashion design s&p there and I was wondering if anyone could help me with the questions or what the interview day was like?
but if your doing fashion styling and promotion it might be different

Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 Applicants
nobody on here seems to have applied for any of the social science courses which is worrying me, i've narrowed my choices down to essex uni and mdx but i'm just not sure which to have as my insurance and firm and the fact that nobody else on here seems to be applying for a similar course to mine is worrying me :/

Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 ApplicantsCONGRATULATIONS!(Original post by harleyy)
Interview 4th april!
Well it's a one on one interview, when you are waiting, they give you a questionnaire to fill out asking:
1. Favourite stylists/photographer/graphic design
2. Favourite designer
3. Books/novels/magazine that you read
4. Favourite music/artist/genre
5. What career you are interested in
I'm sure there are a few more, but i can't remember i'm afraid but i did no rsearch and managed to write down the answer pretty well.
The interview is only around 15 minutes long, and they go through ALL of your portfolio including sketchbooks! He/She (i had a man) asks why you want to do the course, where else you have applied and he/she asks you to pick the best piece of work in your portfolio that best describes you. he/she also ask about you're career choice person to person thats all i remember. I hope I helped!
GOOD LUCK!
Let me know what happens! -
Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 Applicants
Received a conditional offer for Fashion design styling and promotion although I already hold the ucas points they want so going to see if they'll change it to unconditional.
Definitely firming the offer, was the only course I really wanted to do.
Who else is firming it?

Re: Middlesex Uni 2012 ApplicantsYou want to be in Usher. Platt Hall is not in a pleasant area and is at the bottom of a rather steep hill. The only advantage is that it is very close to Colindale station. The shops near Platt are like the Wild West in the evening.(Original post by Etts)

Usher is across the road from the main university, close to Brent Cross Shopping Centre (for shopping or employment), not far from Hendon Central station, and is in a much better neighbourhood. -
