Bridesmaids
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

Re: BridesmaidsThat line cracked me up too! I thought that was the funniest bit of the whole movie(Original post by raach-jazz)
LOL, funniest film i've seen in a long long time.
'there's a colonial woman on the wing churning butter!!'
was crying with laughter throughout the movie!

Re: Bridesmaids
I didn't think it had many laugh out loud moments in it. And above all, it made me cringe because I felt so much empathy for the Kristen Wiig character - and I guess in normal circumstances, empathy and building a genuineness is a sign of a good film - but nooo, I didn't want to feel as sad as her! I guess all I'm saying is that what I want out of a comedy are characters so absurdly faraway from real life that get up to funny business, not ones that feel remotely the same as I do in certain situations. I watched this movie during a breakup when I felt miserable, and the film didn't transport me away to Happyland as I would've liked!
But, saying all that, there were a few cracking lines. Loved Rita trash-talking her kids and the blanket breaking in half. Loved Melissa McCarthy. Loved scary passenger lady: "I had a dream last night. That we went down. You were in it." LOL. -
Re: BridesmaidsWow, really? Hangover 2, I can agree with, but the original? Gotta disagree.(Original post by Jingers)
Bridesmaids >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>> Hangover
Bridesmaids and MacGruber are in my top 3 comedy movies I've seen, both star Kristen Wiig.
Hangover > Bridesmaids >>>>>>>>>>>>> Hangover 2.
That said, it has to be one of my favourite "chick flick" films. Pretty much on par with Mean Girls

Re: BridesmaidsHangover didn't make me laugh once. I didn't enjoy it at all. When it finished, I was just stonefaced.(Original post by Delta_Aitch)

This baffles me. I laughed non-stop watching the Hangover. Meh, I'm immature. -
Re: BridesmaidsIt's not a chick flick. Just because it's about women does not mean it's made with women as the target audience. It's a comedy. People don't assume that films with male lead roles should be aimed at men, so I don't know why they continually lump all films about women in the 'chick flick' category.(Original post by Delta_Aitch)

Re: BridesmaidsWow, chill out. It's not an action flick, it's not a horror flick, it's not a fantasy flick. Thusly, for me, it's easier to describe it as a chick flick and be done with it.(Original post by ArtGoblin)
