    Did you apply to chichester?
I don't know why some unis can offer places and others can't but I was told in my interview letter that they won't be able to offer places until after xmas but I have an offer and there is nothing in the off that says its based on places.
No, I applied to Brunel. I hate that everything about the application process it so vague! Well done on your offer btw! In the email about my offer it says that all institutions are under the same circumstances so no official offers can be made? But if youve got an official offer then who knows! Have you any idea of how many spaces each uni usually gets? Its driving me mad not knowing anything!

Dont know but chichester is small and i dont think they get too many applicants. I guess they offer x amount of places and past that point it depends on places. Also i was in the first interview day and there was only 3 people so i dont know if being 1 of 3 helped. They must have a rough idea of how many they can offer based on previous years.

this probably doesnt help you in the slightest as im really not sure

Quite worrying the fact that those of us who have been sucessful to-date are dependent upon these numbers. I would hate to still be without an offer now.

I wonder if the TDA what with the new bursaries will reduce the overall number of places for certain subjects, and possibly even put a quota on say the number of £9,000 £20,000 bursaries they will have to pay out. Also if this is true then someone might be rejected from a course by the university because he or she had a first or 2.1.

    Interesting times!

Any other to be Oxford PGCE students out there?

As far as im aware, my offer is not dependent on the number of places. (my letter i received inviting me to interview said that offers will not be made until after xmas but i received an offer the other day without a line saying anything about places)

The letter said that there are lots of conditions for me, i thought it would be the same for all, GCSE Maths and English, funding, CRB check, TDA Funding (to the uni) Yours must surely be the same if you were to work with children and hence the minimum of a C in maths and English.

C4OShea I've applied to Oxford (Secondary History) as my first choice but haven't heard anything yet (although it's only been just over 2 weeks so far).

What subject have you applied for?

I guess but the actual condition on GTTR says to obtain at lest a 2:2 and to register on SKE course.
There are two forms i have to fill in and at some point do a CRB but thats not actually mentioned in the offer.
I already have GCSE maths and english at a c im doing a degree in maths so its not really an issue.
No where in my offer does it mention TDA funding. I thought this was a little odd because im my original letter inviting me for interview it said we may not be able to offer places until the ew year because of funding but they have updated my GTTR with a conditional offer not mentioningTDA funding. I guess they already know how many places they have

Thats lucky they dont get many applicants, there was about 18 in my group interview! I was also in the first lot of interviews but I know there are more going on soon. Does anyone know if places for the actual course go on a first come first serve basis?

Chichester actually get quite a few applicants for the PGCE courses. Despite being a small uni.

I had my interview for Secondary PE in November... didn't hear anything for 3 weeks but had a letter this week saying they are now just waiting on the Government and that we will have their numbers confirmed in the new year to offer places! They have told me they have told everyone that weren't successful a few days after the interview so that they could be passed to their second choices so I really hope this is a good sign?? GTTR hasn't changed for a month - it still says "interview" but I know they won't know anything different until the uni tells them! I just really want to know!!
Hello I emailed the TDA allocations team this week and they said they will inform institutes of their final allocations at the start of next week so we might hear sooner rather than later x
