    You need to understand how to apply it to a question in an exam. If you just learn something but you can't apply it to the situation given in the exam, then well, it will not work out.

    Is this right?
    Water has a water potential of Zero.
    Cells or Soultions have a LOWER? Potential, and they're -xkPa?

    Can someone please simplifiy the whole water potential water gradient thing?

    Pure water has a water potential of zero, everything else is lower than that, so it will be -xkPa. Water moves from a high to low water potential (towards the MORE NEGATIVE value).

    Can anyone explain simply (main marking points) the transport of water from the roots to the top of the plant??

    straightttt from the mark schemeee

    In the leaf:
    idea of :
    1 water loss (from leaf) is replaced ;
    2 via, apoplast / symplast / vacuolar, pathways ;
    3 down water potential gradient / AW ;
    4 (lost water replaced) by water from the xylem ;
    In the xylem:
    5 (loss of water) causes, low / negative, (hydrostatic)
    pressure (at top / in leaf)
    OR
    creates pressure gradient ;
    idea of :
    6 water moves, from higher pressure to lower pressure /
    down pressure gradient ;
    7 under tension / pulled up / drawn up ;
    8 by mass flow ;
    9 cohesion / attraction, between water molecules ;
    idea of :
    10 column / stream / chain, of water (molecules) ;

    also does anyone have any predictions as to what may come up?

    It’s hard to say because we’ve got to a stage where pretty much everything has come up at least once. I couldn’t really find anything that hasn’t come up at all when I was looking through the past papers. However there are several things that haven’t been covered in a question worth 5+ marks:
    Microscopes
    Division of labour (e.g. protein synthesis)
    Communication and cell signalling
    Mitosis
    Stem cells
    Blood vessels
    Breathing

    I have a feeling mitosis will come up.. and also microscopes.
    I’m expecting lots of plant stuff – transpiration and translocation seem to be popular with examiners so just because they’ve come up quite a lot before I'm not ruling them out.

    Can people help me with:
    surface-area-to-volume ratio
    close and open circulation
    and most importantly double or single circulation.

    Can you but it as simply as possible, as i've been trying to understand this for months now (i have an idea of it, but my problem is how to but it in words really).
    All help are appreciated

    Single circulation = blood goes through heart once per each cardiac cycle.

    Double circulation = blood goes through heart twice per each cardiac cycle - there are two separate circuits the systemic and the pulmonary.
