Just because it's a kitten, doesn't mean it doesn't have feelings. I haven't read the article because I don't want to but can you fathom the pain that little animal must have gone through?
I don't believe the woman should die but she definitely deserves rightful punishment for it and I do believe acts like this are sick. -

So you would rather that, say, a mass murderer, was allowed to stay alive than a kitten? Is it because it is small and cute and cuddly that you don't prize cats too much? Not much in touch with your feminine side? Would you prize an elephant more highly? -

Who buy high street cosmetics that test on animals?
Who buy goods where animals have been killed for being the wrong sex, been artificially impregnated and made to give birth just for the end product, where animals are killed in a manner that hurts them?
Simple and avoidable things. -

It just saddens me that anyone could stoop so low, and there really should be harsher laws on this kind of treatment towards kittens/puppies/rabbits/children/etc. -

The article says that her four year old son put it in the microwave (how I have no idea, not entirely sure if I believe it). But she didn't seek help for it and left it to die, which was completely evil.Last edited by Philbert; 29-11-2011 at 20:11. -

Their rationality (in the case of some pets anyway) is 'I need food and shelter and affection, to watch out for predators, I'd ideally like to mate and to have a master who I love'. It's barely any different from many humans and who is to say that it is any less meaningful? Nature made animals that way, nature made humans our way. We have the potential to write great books and music and make buildings but most people don't- they do relatively mundane things like animals do.(Original post by buggity)
