Yes I've applied for NatSci this year



Applied to:
Bath (MSci) - offer A*AA
Durham (MSci) - offer A*AA
Cambridge - offer A*AA
Birmingham - offer A*AA
St. Andrews (Biomolecular Sciences) - offer AAB

Oh and yeah I'm looking to study Biology and Chemistry within NatSci

Where would you rather go, UCL or Imperial?
It might be a silly question to some of you, but it isn't to me

Hey guys, new member here.
Currently studying: OCR Bio, Edexcel Chem, and OCR MEI Maths and Further Maths. Dropped AQA Spanish last year. All As in my AS modules (94% UMS average) and predicted 4 A*s.
I've applied to:
Birmingham BSc A*AA offer (to include Biology and Chemistry A2)
Nottingham MSci A*AA or AAAA for the Bio-Chem-Maths Pathway
UCL MSci AAA (they don't offer A* conditionals)
Durham Pending
And dun dunna daa.... Cambridge (Christ's)- Pending.

Interview was pretty good at Cambridge, but only pretty good. UCL interview was almost enjoyable, just chatted for 15 mins about the brain and my personal statement.

Does anybody know when Christ's will send out offers and rejections?

They'll post letters on the 4th so chances are you'll get it on the 5th or 6th. Some colleges have said you can phone the admissions office and ask if you haven't received your letter on the 5th.

Personally, I like the look and feel of UCL a lot better, though of course these two aren't worlds apart. UCL is more widely known if you're looking at international reputation. Thing to consider is that at UCL the Nat Sci course is more Maths/Physics oriented than the more Life Sciences-heavy NS courses offered by other institutions, esp Bath and Birmingham. I don't know the exact structure of the course at Imperial... either is a safe bet - happiness will come either way!

guys your probably being put in the second block of interviews dw when did you apply? I applied 14th october and was put on an interview 17th november super speedy :O (i think that was the 1st one) but i had to rearrange as i couldnt make it, tried to book onto the next week 24th nov but was already full so went 1st of december! maybe when you applied the pre christmas interviews were full 30 went each interview day and there must have only been 4 days pre christmas the next block of interviews is february which im sure you'll be on I have my offer now the interview isnt scary atall quite informal good luck to you all xx

Ah thanks for the reassurance I applied 14th november I think.
How long did it take to get a reply from them? And is it 2 weeks before the interview they tell you about it? (Might not be that's just the time that came to my head for some reason...)

Have people heard back from Durham or know when they send decisions? I heard its always around the same time as Cambridge but some NatSci people already have offers...

The first interview invite letter i recieved really soon after my application probably just under 2 weeks after the form was sent off It was about 2 weeks in advance of the actual date. When i rescheduled the second letter inviting me to the 1st of December open day is dated 7th of November so more in advance I must of called up to rearrange later december quite a bit before you applied anyway so by the time they got your application the last open day pre christmas would have been full so I wouldnt worry you should get a letter some time mid january I presume

I have also seen people with offers may I ask when you applied? I applied the 14th haven't heard back yet but i've seen others who applied before 10th of October have got offers I think we'll be waiting till January now but yeah offers should start being given out again around 5th cross fingers for then

Yeah it's the waiting game. Surely following Durham's line of waiting until all applications are in to make final decisions, we might be waiting until February??

aww man that sucks! well in total my school had 8 early applicants for oxbridge and medicine and even though we all handed them in mega early they were sent from13th-15th :L mine was middle ahaha and yeah if they only start making decisions after the jan 15th deadline your right :/ i have no idea tbh but the wait is so hard! I have no idea how im going to make decisions of firm and backup and cant start until I hear from Durham a very viable firm if i was lucky enough :/

I have a Durham offer which I received on the 8th of December . I think they make a small number of offers early (november/december time) then give the majority out after the 15th of Jan deadline.

EDIT: Oh my app got sent off the 6th of October btw.

Cool, the edit made me slightly less worried! Can I ask what subjects you study (+ grades) and what subjects you specified you wanted to do for Durham's NatSci course? Dw if you don't want to tell me!

I wanna do Chemistry and Biology for Durham's natsci course I'm currently studying chemistry, biology, maths, physics and further maths at school (i posted my predicted grades already in thsi thread)

I didn't realise they had a visit day I got an offer from Leeds but haven't heard anything at all from them unloved!
