Enigma I'm the same, en-suite was my first choice and standard was my second, oh well!

What date is everybody moving in? I was going to move in on the 15th but since it starts on the 8th I'm not sure?

To the previous post, I was a bit rushed when reading the offer haha, yea the rooms are already assigned to us.

The lease starts on the 8th so I'd guess we can move in then?? Rather get there as soon as I can and learn my way about Aberdeen haha. Really want to explore Aberdeen since it will be my first time there, also need to join the gym asap haha.

Hey, just checked my email and saw the accommodation offer - Woolmanhill as well, flat 12. I was hoping to get an en-suite but they gave me a standard room.

Just read the Conditions of lease and they refer to Freshers Week as 8 – 22 September 2012 but the RGU Union page says 15-23. Hmmm, I'll just have to wait and see when everybody else is moving in.

My course also starts on the 17th. ^^

By the way does this definitely mean that if I come to uni with another person, eg my mum, she won't be allowed to stay for the night?
For security reasons, we regret that no guest passes can be issued during Freshers Week (8 – 22
September 2012) or from 5-19 January 2013 and 4-18 May 2013 (exam periods).
University staff have the authority to refuse access to a guest at any time, or to remove them from the
residences. Such action will be taken where necessary to safeguard the security and general wellbeing
    of residents.

So if it says the course starts on the 17th, do yous think that means that our actual classes start on the 17th?

My course starts on 17th aswell, but I think they'll do an induction day on that day, introduce you to all the teachers, members of staff, class mates and so on. We'll come back a certain day to officially begin the course.

Remember accommodation is just being given out, they'll still provide us with enrolment details later on this month or through august. If it's really worrying you, email or phone RGU to get some advice.

    @mons7re

    I believe so :P

For accommodation during move in, I guess your mum would have to stay at a hotel.

With regards to guest accommodation not during move in, they offer this:
Guest accommodation costing £25 per single room per night and £45 for the double room per night is available in a ground floor flat at Woolmanhill throughout the year. It consists of 6 single and one double ensuite bedrooms (shower, wc and whb) with a lounge/kitchen area. The double room has been adapted for wheelchair users. The flat is fully furnished and equipped to 2 star Tourist Board rating and the kitchen contains all necessary utensils required for self-catering. This accommodation is very popular so please book early to avoid disappointment.

To book please contact Peggy MacInnes on
    01224 262134 or email p.macinnes@rgu.ac.uk
edit: also found this with regard to people staying in your room:
A single overnight guest is allowed at any one time, but not more often than twice per month.

    Hey! Gym friend

I would like to confirm that accommodation is available to us on the 8th September.

"Your accommodation will be available from Saturday 08 September 2012."

This was stated RGU: Roomonline: Arrival Details - once you've completed your acceptance of accommodation. ie paying your deposit, accepting terms and conditions.

Hope that helps, although a time isn't stated but I would safely assume after 9 am :P

It's going to be my first time there as well. I'm going to aim to arrive on the 8th but it depends on available flight tickets and they're sooo expensive for that time of the year.
Totally agreeing with the gym sentiment! The RGU sports facilities look AMAZING.

Got my offer finally though. GOnna be in Ramsay Development. Not my first choice because it's so far away from the city but looks amazing and I've got an ensuite. WHOO.
