Why is it looked down on if girls show unattractive legs?

I know that some legs are more attractive to others but its like if a woman doesnt have stereotypically nice legs people b**** about her as though she shouldnt be showing them. If a girl is healthy and has toned legs even she would be made to feel ashamed if they were not 'sexy'. (for example average pale legs like these http://imageshack.us/content_round.php?page=done&l=img52/3981/fghhv.png&via=mupload&newlp=1# ) I can understand legs that dont look nice being ignored but people seem to think they should be covered up :confused:

Because they just don't look nice.

Nobody forces you to cover them up and I'm sure only the saddest of people bitch but lets be honest why would anybody see legs like them as attractive when there are legs like these:

the example that I posted has toned legs but they wouldnt be seen as attractive. Im talking about toned legs that are not seen as attractive because they are pale or whatever. Its like people are ashamed of their legs even if the are toned.

I've never really heard about pale legs being unattractive tbh. Legs in that first photo are fine..

People are too concerned about such trivial things and the aspiration to some celebrity culture "perfection".

its up to you at the end of the day. who cares if others think you have to cover your legs up? but i can also see what people mean when they say that....i mean if a girl went around flashing her flabby stomach...you know..it just wouldn't look ok. lol but legs are a different story. and i've seen girls with not so good legs wear short clothes and i've never thought "ew gross". and as far as i know neither have my friends so...dw :smile:

Because legs are feminine - they just are.

Nicer legs are just seen to be more feminine - and men are generally attracted to more feminine women.

Legs = feminine, arms = masculine.

Why else do you see guys often admiring girls' legs, but never their arms, and girls admiring guys arms but never their legs?

Just how gender sexuality has turned to aesthetics.
