Re: The 11/12 NBA season threadI don't think you can just throw a game in the play-offs. The Celtics aren't good enough to be able to assume they'll win four out of the next six just because their starters had a night off.(Original post by Walkingtripldouble)
Hey guys long time reader first time poster
I actually think both conference finals series will be a lot harder to predict than most people think. Anyone else think it would be a sensible move giving Garnett, Pierce and Ray Allen game 1 off? They are all pretty banged up and it seems pretty unlikely they would take game 1 in miami anyway... -
Re: The 11/12 NBA season threadReg season games mean nothing last year Miami lost 3-1 reg season to Celtics and same with Bulls. We all saw how that turned out. Miami in 5 again and i think i got Spurs in 6. Miami vs Spurs final(Original post by TheLouisVuittonDon)
Yet they have beaten them before... hmm.
Good transition isn't everything, you might remember this if you watched a certain final last year.
You will also see it in the championship this year when the Spurs superior half court dominates.

Re: The 11/12 NBA season threadI HATE it when people say that. You could say the regular season doesn't have much influence on a playoff series, which it doesn't. But to say that regular season games mean nothing is ridiculous. To back up your point that the regular season means nothing, you mention two series.(Original post by Jim_Metrin)

I think a big part of it for the Celtics is to do with conditioning. You can't expect players like Pierce, KG and Allen to play an intense season and then come out balling like they're in their prime.
All I will say is.... Spurs in 6.Last edited by TheLouisVuittonDon; 27-05-2012 at 16:13. -
Re: The 11/12 NBA season threadAbout time as well, tbh. I'm still waiting his responses to some of my arguments but apparently they "aren't worth responding to"(Original post by Xotol)
Cheers bro.
Anyway, looking forward to the game today. Unless Durant and Westbrook combine for 70+ points, I cannot see a way they can beat the Spurs.
Spurs in 5 or 6. Thunder hugely overrated.
he seems to run away when someone starts talking about some real philosophical matters.
Typical western conference game starting late on a Sunday

Just looked at the schedule for the CF, and it seems like every game is starting at 8.30 or 9.00 ET.

Re: The 11/12 NBA season threadSpurs has Manu Ginobili and a deep bench. Thunder has James Harden. Spurs win that contest.(Original post by strategist)
Spurs has a deep bench... but Thunder has James Harden
Spurs win better coach contest.
Spurs win turnover and assist contest.
Spurs win better team contest.
Thunder win better SF contest. Yay! -
Re: The 11/12 NBA season threadWe all know it's not always that simple though... Having said that, Spurs in four.(Original post by Xotol)
