Congratulations! The vibe at camberwell just feels right doesnt it I seek out any mention of it on these forums and think its sadly neglected! The sculpture studio is brilliant - an amazing view.

Ive lived in Camberwell for 7 years, previously lived in Camden - I get so mad when people slag camberwell/peckham off cause, honestly I'd not choose to live anywhere else (Camden was a nightmare!). Theres some great pubs, a number of have student nights.... as well as life drawing sessions in a bunch of pubs! Theres lots of arty events, studios and local galleries. I cant say much about clubs in the area cause I mostly go out in soho which is about a 30-40min bus ride from camberwell. Food of every variety and some of it damn good.

Often people talk about the lack of a tube, but I honestly hate the tube and camberwell a bus heaven - they go everytwhere from East London to West London to North London and everywhere central - Tate Moderns just a hop away and theres the South London Gallery right next to the college.

I know Peckham less, but go shopping there all the time and there's a cheap (for London) cinema.

In the seven years Ive lived here Ive not been mugged or TBH even felt threatened once (minus the raving drunks, occassional aggressive begging and the entertaining Christians - all of which you can find anywhere in London unless you want to cloister youself in some of the more rarified or sterile posh, areas of London ) As with any city, you just have to be street aware and confident (by contrast, I have had friends whove been mugged in Camden)

Frankly I love the vibe of Camberwell, both the college and the area - hope this helps!!!
Thank youu! I didn't expect an offer so quickly! Ah yeah soho is where all my friends who are in London go aswell. Thank you for all the info its nice to hear someone who lives in the actual place talk about it, I don't even live there and it annoys me how people talk about it! You've basically confirmed even more why I want to go! How much do the buses cost on average? Say if you were going to soho?

I get a monthly bus pass on my oyster card (18+ student discount of 30%) which costs £50.40 - I get a lot of use out of it. A single bus journey with your Oyster card costs £1.35, theres a price cap for buses of £4.20, so you dont go above that no matter how many journeys you make, though its generally just one bus journey from Camberwell to everywhere.

Its miles cheaper than a travelcard that lets you use the tube - I only ever use the tube when I have absolutely no other choice.

Im dreading getting a rejection from Camberwell, I'll be gutted but am trying to psych myself up for the worst (my theory is, it will make the disapointment less and if I get in, it'll be even sweeter )

I'm currently living in London. I didn't get a chance to tour the college itself, I wish I had! I'll definitely visit before I make my decision. I really enjoyed talking with the people who interviewed me and the vibe I got from wandering around before my interview.

Will you be attending LCC? What program?
