    A woman? Racing? In F1!?
Maria de Villota is looking likely to become a Lotus test driver next year.

Good news IMO. Hope she gets a chance in a race seat sometime.

I seem to remember her being quite hapless in the lower formulae.

Well if she's good enough then why not? Just hope she's not the new Giovanna Amati, given a drive for publicity rather than talent.

I don't know much about her, but having checked her race stats I objectively don't see why a team would want to sign her. She's won one race in her career, in 2007, and hasn't driven competitively since 2010. She's only been in the minor championships, and hasn't really shown any sign of major improvement (and is already 32); of female drivers, Danica Patrick would be a better choice. That said, I certainly hope that this isn't just a cynical attempt to get a woman (and any woman) into the sport at any cost, because it would be wrong way to go about it.

I think I saw her on South Park. And I agree. :proud:

Total tosh. She had a conversation with Eric and people took photos. Means zilch, except nice publicity for her.
