UBC, anyone?
Discussion for those studying in the United States and Canada

Re: UBC, anyone?Yeah..applyed to Sauder and Arts. Wont accept the arts one even if I'm admitted..only wanted Sauder. The problem is Sauder needs an 84% average and they try to convert A Levels to match that aswell. 84% is like AAA with one of the A's being near A*. Bit too much.(Original post by fellowjoe)
I did A-levels, so there is no way for me to gauge the kind of grades i need to get in; well, let's keep our fingers crossed!
You are applying to Sauder?Last edited by Azland; 23-02-2012 at 15:13. -
Re: UBC, anyone? Its as if someone who gets into Sauder is as qualified for LSE/UCL(Original post by Azland)

Do you know what's the average for entry into Arts and its A-level equivalent? -
Re: UBC, anyone? Not officially listed but If I had to guess between 70-80%. A Level will be about BBB or higher. Many applicants try for it as its very easy to get into and then they try to transfer to a different faculty once they get admission. My sister got into arts and transferred to a different faculty aswell in 2007 or so.(Original post by fellowjoe)

Hmm did you submit any supplemental application or did you just simply complete your Personal Profile?
Because according to the website, if we have already submitted our Personal Profile, the supplemental application is not needed? I only submitted my Personal Profile :/ -
Re: UBC, anyone?I only remember filling in those boxes in the main application. Asked for stuff like extracurricular and activities etc. I think The supplemental application is only for some faculty's like medicine and for some courses on the okanagan campus. In either case ubc hasnt asked us yet for anything so I guess its fine.(Original post by fellowjoe)

84% average for Canadian high school students who aimed to get into University is pretty average. Arts student at UBC have at least an average of 82%.
I thought Sauder's average has risen for admission in 2013. In anyhow, you could transfer from Arts to Sauder in your second year. If you choose that path, it is a bit more intense as you are now based on first year grades.
