i applied around the same period as u. I have a feeling u r on the waiting list. at least you are not rejected yet but best to explore other opportunities too. I still think Work Experience > any Masters.

Any relevant work experiences/finance societies? I currently have a 2:1 as well, but trying to lever on the fact that i have a summer analyst placement with a BB.

I don't think so. I would rather you write more quantitative stuff, programming (C++) stuff or finance related stuff about yourself.

I also applied for the course (5th december). Currently, I am studying a Business Information Systems BSc degree in Germany. Its a combination of computer science and business studies. I attended one course in linear algebra, statistics and calculus. I am also doing one of my specialisation modules in finance. Additionally I attended an economics and accounting course.

My grade is 1.1 (german grading system: 1 (best) - 5 (fail)) and I am the best student in my programme. So I think this should be an excellent first class equivalent. I also worked in software engineering and I am teaching groups of students in operations research as a tutor.

I was rejected by warwick just 2 days after my application, so I think they didn't like my degree or whatever. Now I am afraid that Imperial will not give me an offer either... baaah. I thought I have a strong background, but now I am a bit frustrated. Does anybody know whether there are students with a similar background at the course?

Hi, I'm an undergraduate currently, but really interested in this program. What is your academic/professional background? Have you received any other offers for MSc programs? Have you taken a year out to apply or directly after finishing bachelor's?

Cheers.

Had an internship at Bank of China last summer. Does being a resident tutor, society vice president and international student ambassador help?

i have 2 years of working exp.... LSE and LBS have not gotten back to me yet.

but seriously guys, dun worry too much if you cannot get a Masters. Get a job first and see the world. It will really change your perspective. Relevant Work experience>any Masters.

With a mature mindset and really knowing what interests you after working, you can then take a Masters to change your career. Thats what I am doing now, hoping to move on to another area in Finance after graduation from Imperial.

Interview is not a job. Its not close to a job. But again, im kinda referring from a non EU students perspective. No 2nd EU language, pretty hard to break into IBD. Something you can not control. Grades etc you can.

i am a non-EU student. and i got to the AC stage but got cut there. i think i had a shot but i'm not good enough say professionally or i just suck at interviews.
