Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13
Hello everyone
I would like to ask a question about my chances in being accepted to the msc investment management program at cass. When i apply next turn i will have a bsc in economics and hopefully a bsc in statistics.
Could i be accepted if i get a gmat score between 680 and 730, with 2 good academic references+some extra math courses...BUT..here is the huge downside....with a grade average below 2.2
?
Or are my chances zero for being accepted?
I would be really thankfull to those that take their time to answer me

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13It's not hard to get an offer for the course. Those I knew who applied to Cass all got an offer. What do you mean by grade average below 2.2? Does that mean a 3rd? I would say you still stand a good chance if you have a high/mid 2.2 and some decent extra curricular activities/internships. But if it's a 3rd (even it's marginally fall short of 2.2) it seems not too convincing. You can try to explain the reason why you get a poor average in your personal statement if you can.(Original post by Shadow88)

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13Yes, its below 2.2, so i guess my chances are very very slim. Well, im gonna give it a try at least. Maybe my chances will increase a little, if i get a very high gmat and a really good personal statement.(Original post by vinc10)

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13(Original post by Shadow88)
But how about a high gmat in the range between 720-740?
Will it make any difference?
if you have a good gmat score, and a very good personal statement, i am sure your marks won't matter much. As far as I understood, they want to make sure you are a good package for a specialist masters programme. I suggest you work on an exceptional personal statement and a good gmat score. Then nothing else will stop you. many people have been rejected for a bad personal statement despite their awesome academic results. So, personal statement goes a long way, do not underestimate that
hope i helped and good luck on your application

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13hi, i am also interested in the MSc Banking and Intl Fin. When you said, required first class, does it mean that everyone w/o first class might have lower chances. I will graduate next yr with a 2:1 in business admin.(Original post by rollarcoaster)

thanks! -
Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13i reckon you ll get an offer if u get at least a 2.1 but the offer maybe a first. depending on the school your from. but then again if u dont meet it thats another story..(Original post by ariesxxx)

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13It is quite easy to switch as far as I know both before and when you first start the academic year although this year most people moved the other way.(Original post by lightupthesky)
hey guys I was wondering would it be possible to switch programmes from MSc Investment Management to MSc Finance? -
Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13I'm afraid it is very unlikely you will get acccepted with less than a 2.1.(Original post by Shadow88)

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13ohh, are you very sure of this. Not even with a gmat score between 710-730? And 2 very good references from my current university. I will also have a bsc in economics and one in statistics.(Original post by asm3k)

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13
Hi guys,
Anyone holding on or already accepted an offer for either the MSc Quantitative Finance program or MSc Financial Mathematics program for 2012/2013 entry?
I am currently contemplating if I should accept my FM offer. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. -

Re: Cass Business London Postgraduate Applications 2012/13
Hi guys,
I'm going for the Msc Banking & International Finance. It seems almost everyone here is talking about the Ms Investment/Ms Finance and IBs, but investment was not my passion so I didn't apply. My goal is to work for commercial banks, preferably in risk management departments.
Just out of curiosity, how do people/employers see this program? Of course I won't drop out even if it's unpopular, but I'm just trying to have a realistic view of my career prospects (in places like Europe, Singapore or Hongkong) so that I could be prepared
Thks in advance
