You're right that a student loan is not risky, but it's still a burden and immoral (taking money from people by force for your personal gain).
I don't support it, because student loans by the government are the reason education costs are so high. It's artificial manipulation of the market which screws up supply & demand for education.
The simple truth is, not everyone can nor should go to college. -

I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to buy a new car or go on a trip with the money. Re: How Much Money do You Have in the Bank?Savings: £3,200 from working a couple of part time jobs, and from my Industry placement. Hoping to have about £5,000 saved for uni. Just hope my rent doesn't go up again!
Current: About £30. I try to keep most of my money in my savings account as it has a really good interest rate, and it stops me from spending my money on stuff I don't need.
Other: While it's not in my bank account, my parents have £40,000 set aside for me when I'm older to go on a deposit for my first house/start to fund a mortgage. They did the same for my brother. This is basically our inheritance. They want to see us benefit from their savings and hard work, instead of it getting tied up in taxes, etc.
. I need thousands of pounds by the August.
