Check student loan balance whilst at university?

Hi,

I understand that we'll be able to check our balance of how much we owe in student loans after graduation, but can we check how much we owe during university / now?

Thanks.
good question :s-smilie:
When I was at uni, and had no interest in how much I earned (as I wasn't going to be paying it off soon) they sent me a statement every year. Now that I've graduated and paid some back and would like to know what I owe, they haven't sent me anything for 3 years. Great service.

I know about that but isn't it aimed at those who finished or can I still use it?

I don't want to log in, just in case I "trigger" something which will cause them to think I've completed my studies or something.

Logging in won't trigger it - you'll just be able to see your balance and the interest it's accrued so far.

Not 100% if it'll work if you haven't finished the course but it certainly won't do any harm to try - you use the same login info as for the application system.

You could go to the payments section on the student finance website. This will tell you what they have paid you...add it all up (not including grants) and you'll get a rough amount of what you owe. (this doesn't take interest into account)

Anyone else tried using http://www.studentloanrepayment.co.uk before being advised to?

I have. And the only thing that triggers repayment is a ticked box on your work contract.
