Is A level buisness and economics or government and politics better?

Hi there,
I've already picked these following subjects for A-level but I can stil change them if I want to:

English Lit
History
Philosophy & Ethics
Government and Politics

I'm not sure if buisness and economics is the better choice, im hoping to do law at Uni. I know I've picked a lot of 'writing' subjects, would it be good to stir away from all of these and do buisness and economics?

Bearing in mind, I'm targeted a 'D' for GCSE maths, and theres no guarantee I'll get a C in that. Oh, and Is government and politics boring? Hard?
If you're not very good at Maths, you're probably best staying away from Economics (and to a lesser extent, Business). I'm not sure about Government & Politics though, as I've never done it.

I'm not sure, economics is extremely (!) light on math compared to say physics. It's really basic calculation rather than any real math, to be honest. That said, I'd recommend it, as you have a rather "alpha" list so far, and it'd make you into a more comprehensive and all-round student
I love politics, where as I find economics so dull. Economics doesn't require too much maths to be honest, I'm awful at it and whenever we do have to do maths then everyone uses calculators anyway. Economics is still quite heavily essay/writing based... I do OCR and we have to answer a few questions then eventually build up into an essay (at AS and more at A2).

Judging by from what you have chosen, Politics would by far be the better subject for you.
Well as someone who studied Gov and Pol I can say that I really enjoyed it,we always had interesting debates in lessons and it related really well to History A level.

I studied Russia at A2 and studying Socialism in the ideologies course at the same time was really helpful.

Good choice, also (though this may not be the same for all exam boards) you will probably study the British judicial system at AS, which I can imagine would be very useful for Law.

At A level economics doesn't involve much maths apart from simple calculations such as multipling and you have a calculator so it is not too bad.
I'm in the first year at sixth form, studying for my AS-Levels and I want to study A-Levels. I chose English Lit, History and Philosophy like you, as well as French. Those are all academic subjects, so for your fourth subject I'd say either would be good. All my friends who do Government&Politics seem to find it more interesting than Economics, but that's subjective really. I'm assuming you're doing GCSEs at the moment, so good luck for those as well!

for law they like to see that you have a logical mind so you should do something logical like a science

There is more than just doing a Science to prove that you have a logical mind.

A-Level economics contains little maths.

Business Studies and Economics doesn't require any Maths, other than the very basic knowledge. I do the subject and it's OK; I would have preferred to do Economics on its own but my sixth form offered them combined. AS was awful for me (easy but I disliked the layout of the exam paper), whereas A2 is more interesting. I also take Government and Politics and History and I really enjoy them, and they complement each other.

I would advise that you take G/P if you wish to pursue Law.
