True say, completely depends on where you go. One thing that always puzzled me is how my parents instilled the work ethics in me :dontknow:

Yeah, the science electives are at York, not at the business school but I am taking them during summer so I end up going to Mac/Western (best science faciltiies by far). and by fate has been sealed in Canadian unis today as it was the deadline to make decisions.

Wish I could be in wolfson, stupid ensuite problems.

Oohh, but I am sure u can still meet up esp if you all decide to stay for easter (Prob going to, assuming I even end up in the UK)

And you went all brainy on me , understood maybe a percent of what you just said of the currency but the Olympics will definitely make it appreciate (higher demand, limited supply).

    Off to make lunch!. :woo:
Hehe. My parents tried and failed it was my horrible exam results that really jolted me into action

Oh right. Makes a lot more sense then. Well it does sound pretty sweat. so will you be a student of York or Sxhulich then, or do you mean it's too late to go to Canadian unis now?

To be fair, it's usually the other way round isn't it? People much rather have ensure
And your mums probably right - gonna be quite dirty I'd assume
Nonetheless,I just really hope I get Wolfson's cuz it's cheap, and i'm broke

Oops, did I? I wish I was brainy in currency trading- would have made a fortune by now :I

    I didn't like House that much :p:
    WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE?

How can you live with such a though!

seriously though, I don't blame you; the last.couple of seasons were horrible

    House is this:
    1) Super weird problem with patient
    2) Make attempt at diagnosis; fails
    3) Think up of something, it seems to work initially but fails
    4) Right at the end, they figure out what is wrong as the patient is about to die

That's pretty much every House episode summed up for you

    (Original post by apple17)
It was my first medic TV show I watched.
    Scrubs!!! It's miles better

   ! But... Hugh Laurie!
 I don't see any particularly pretty faces on it.

No need to sum it up for me - I've watched them all

You gotta admit: it's the same with all shows pretty much. Simpsons for example - event A introduces main event B-> makes one of the characters do something stupid -> sideline story occurs concurrently -> realises stupidity -> hugs it out.

Scrubs is the most ridiculous, over-the-top, not funny at all show

But I'd say Grey's Anatomy is the worst for me. Too much soap for me:hand:

    HUGE Blackadder fan here. :hello:

I see what you mean about the over-exaggerated patient scenarios though, but isn't that part of what makes it entertaining? And I also must admit that I stopped watching around the 7th series as I wasn't enjoying it as much anymore. The earlier seasons are still great though, in my opinion.

Well, I am a schulich student but I can take classes at York. Had a BBQ there today, awesome stuff!

True say, applied today and put GDSA, SSA and wolfson. Couldn't bother with the rest.

Hopefully, my flat mates are tidy and we are all girls (single sex) so in a better position that u guys. with an unconditional, ur prob going to.

Yeah, talking to some people Investment bankers make 160 K during their first year. insane!

As said before, don't worry - you'll get the results

BBQ? Sorry. Where again, and will there be another one?
But seriously though, that sounds cool. Was it like hosted by the school or more of just students' own organisation?

Ditto. I only bothered with the intercollegiates - some are ridiculously expensive over others! I think Connaught was like an extra 1k or something

I genuinely think girls use bathrooms much more neatly than guys do. I mean, I'm not sure you've been sure you've never been to a guy's public bathroom, but it's a mess in there :puke:

Wut? Being unconditional = Wolfson? MAY GOD LET THAT HAPPEN PLEASE!!!

Pffttt... bankers and their monies.

    Bah, a month of peace.

Doubt, there will be another one. Well, mostly the student organization but there was a academic counsellor to tell us to "own our performance" So excited for the uni experience, seems intimidating coming from a small high school though

Thats the one I looked at and the prices were just ridiculous.

Definitely, except its prob crowded with a million of make up accessories, lotions and creams. :yucky: Had horror bathroom stories in my old school.

Well, if I get in (which most people think I will), I should have an unconditional and I think unconditional get priority so higher chance of first choice.

Btw, did you try out for that KCL desmond tutu scholarship.

Enjoy it as much as you can, you'll probably be nervous for a couple of days before results!

Sounds lovely though. How small is your high school? I don't really feel scared - well maybe cuz my college was run kinda like a uni :s

Guys nowadays have a lot of stuff apparently.
Though, if I'm not mistaken, the shared bathrooms are mixed for the non-ensuites? Excluding the optional single-sex rooms of course.

Bah. You'll get in. It's 1 point lower than your predicted right?
Really? I hope so. But I've also heard people get really really random allocations as well sometimes, so fingers crossed! :crossedf:

    Nah. Cuz:
    a) Financial statements would say wealthy enough to afford (barely though )
    b) I have no real previous experience of helping people, let alone those related to developing nations.

    Did you?

Yeah, definitely. Watching movies and reading novels! Debating whether to go to prom. You did amazing though! Saw ur profile on the medics thread, superb!

Uhm, my class had 12 kids. The whole gr.7-12 is 160 kids. Not really looking forward to it since uni is full of swarms of people but frreshers seems promising

Yeah, you are right but I choose the single-sex rooms, would be pre awkward to have a guy in the flat/room.

Uhm, KCL is 2 points lower and sheffield is 3 points lower. But I ended this year with a 41/45(IB mocks to local diploma conversion) Weird, as I started IB with a 32 or something. Bad times.

Heard about that too. Vulpes ended up comp different to both his first and second choice so pre scared about that but then again, GDSA has tons of spots (the most)

I applied, didn't get it, well at that time, i did not include the bank loan and apparently, if u didn't help in developing nations but showed a commitment to do so after graduation, you could still apply! Imo, getting a scholarship is even tougher than getting an offer. sigh

Yeah. Deserve a break after graduation, regardless of what level
Why not just go to pr
No no no. You are far too kind. It's average-ish

Ah... right. Mine had bout 20, and there were 5/6 classes in my "intake" (we have two intakes for A-Levels every year, once in Jan and June), plus IB students, so it was quite big. Must have gotten close to everyone with such a small number!

I guess it might be. But it might also be more entertaining?

Hopefully we'll both get top choices (or at least within the top 3 :crossedf: )

I know. I read the form and was quite tempted, but decided against it - didn't think I'd get it even if I applied. Regretting it now that you've mentioned it... wonder who got them...

Definitely, my first break after year 9. 3 summers of work and finally one of none.

The cost and it will be crap (with the entire school)

Uhm, you couldn't really get any higher except one more A*.

Definitely close but only made 1-2 really good friends, the others were either in it for academics or plain out two-faced. The guys were all best friends

Definitely more interesting but my parents weren't comfortable and I don't really like the idea (way more drama. sigh)

I only have 3 choices, but def top 1-3 choices.

That will remain to be a curiosity, it was way too competitive and imo, there should have been 5 intl ones and none for home (they already have a lot of scholarships compared to intl)

Wow. How come you've been so busy all those years? Definitely worth a break then

It may be fun... My friend and I didn't think not paying and crashing prom followed by a hotel room party would work out, but it did

    That's still one more A* I got a stupid B :cry2:
    (asianess...)

So, all the guys were best friends?
To be honest, I'm not much of a friend-person either. Meh. :dontknow:

All reasonable reasons I wouldn't mind mixed personally, but I wouldn't mind too much

Well, to be fair, 3 is more than most other places :dontknow: But I'd have loved it if there were more of course.

Out of curiosity, would you consider yourself as having needed those funds, or more as 'it'd have been nice to have'? (don't have to ansewr if you don't want to )

Well, summer after grade 9 was teaching gr.10 math then sumemr after gr.10 math did summer school physics and last summer was basically all UKCAT prep and IB extended essay

Woah, might totally try that, nah think I am tired of some people. Met up with 2 yesterday, 1 was way too bossy and showing off she is going to DEF do law at kent (she needs the IB grades too) and another basically told me that anyone can get into med in the UK. :sadnod:

Aww, I understand. Further maths must be brutal?

Yeah, pre much all the guys were best frds but girls are mostly double-faced so we weren't all friends: too much snitching and drama. Going to keep that in mind for freshers week. (don't count on hskaal to be frds. )

Yeah, same, its not the end of the world, and I am sure if I plan to move out in 2nd year with frds or w.e., can't be too picky bout gender but uni accomodation seems cheaper since bills and insurance is included. :dontknow:

Definitely, way too few ensuite options and self-catered and a lot of it is restricted to post-grads/mature grads.

Would be nice to have, less debt.

Revision is taking its toll guys
    How's everyone coping?
I feel like I don't know anything. I've not worked anywhere near as hard as I should've for these exams and it's showing. Sooo jealous of people who only need like Ds and Cs to get As! :p:

And I'm also starting to **** myself slightly at the thought that I could be a doctor... like, I heard a story on the news about a family that lost their mother because a stomach pain was misdiagnosed and by the time they realised she had pancreatic cancer it was too late. So terrifying.
