I'm (currently anyway) a singleton!

It's during my half term, so me and my single friends are gonna go out on a big group date, go to the carnival maybe, eat lots of crap and watch soppy films while throwing crap at the TV. Thats the plan anyway!

I'm not sending any cards as I don't really want to. I think i might receive 2 this year thought, which would be interesting. Read the other day that 85% of cards are sent by women !

My school is having a Valentine's disco for the S1 and S2s, but nothing for us oldies. They'll probably sell candy hearts or something though. A very imaginative Charities Committe we have!

Lol, it's always single people who say it's a con and a load of rubbish. But, I'd say it too, if I was single :\

I had a boyfriend on Valentine's Day last year, and we still both thought it was a con. So there. Stop passing off common sense as bitterness.

I'll be celebrating it early cause he can't be here for the day itself

Just an ordinary day at school, no admirers so looking forward to nothing.
Then in the night i'm working in a restaurant watching all the loved up couples, and me feeling slightly depressed. Ah well.:frown:

I don't know what we're doing yet, I'll probably be staying at his because his dad is away with work... but other than that I don't know. We won't be doing anything majorly special though, its a pointless waste of money because my birthday is 2 weeks later.

Will probably send flowers to some girl I was with but who's now with someone else: it's not even a romantic gesture. It's more to piss her off and make her feel bad for being with some other guy who is nowhere near as good as me

Haha, I like your style

Well seeing as Valentine's Day is on a Tuesday this year I shall be in lectures from 9am til 6pm. Great.
I don't get to spend it with my boyfriend this year but we should be seeing each other a few days after so will make up for it then
Going up to visit my boyfriend, but I can't stay late as I don't think I can get out of work. I'll be there from Sunday- Tuesday afternoon though.

We do the giving-out-roses-in-the-middle-of-lessons, too, which is great when you're one of the people giving them out  (We do them for World Challenge). And seeing what people write on the messages is both really sweet, and quite amusing in some cases.

I can't really afford to buy him anything though (see World Challenge above. Meh), and I did the making food last year... I might just go with a card, and say my traipsing up to Bristol andthe pleasure of my company should be more than enough of a present

I'll be celebrating it on the saturday beforehand as my boyfriend is coming from Durham to see me. We're going out to a nice little Italian and having a drink which should be lovely. I've bought him some armani aftershave and chocolates. At the moment though i have flu - it better clear up by thursday when he gets here.

As for the actual day itself - i'll probably have to sit in on my own missing him. Joy. xx
Im not a fan of Valentine's Day but my boyfriend likes to buy me a little something so it would be churlish not to do the same just because I think its over-commercialised rubbish. I tell him I love him every day so Valentine's won't make any difference. However, it is an excuse for him to come up and spend the weekend with me, which I'm certainly not going to complain about  Bit of chocolate for him and a card, thats all - I have no money as I've spent it all on his birthday which is on the 20th

Valentine's is like Christmas - overcommercialised but whose basic sentiments we can apply to our daily lives...as for me, it's unlikely anything special will happen, I have never received a card, not even for a joke...oh well...

I SERIOUSLY need some ideas. apparently it's 'the guys' job to decide and all of his ideas must be met with indifference so his job is made EVEN harder.

ghey

I'm not single and I still say it's a con and a load of rubbish. It's just going to hurt less this year than previous ones.

Same here! Just got back from spending a night in the "Malmaison Leeds" Beeeautiful hotel!
I recommend it! As he's in the navy and we won't be able to see each other on silly Tuesday the 14th... we had our fantastic weekend, this weekend! :p:

What? You mean the obsessive and bitter style?
I'm going for a mexican on saturday night with my boyfriend. Not expecting any romantic gestures though....that is not his style at all!

5 years and no romantic gestures!!! boo hoo hoo :frown: All the hints in the world wouldn't make him try and do something romantic!

oh well, its all a big con anyway!
Am at uni in the day all day, my boyf is working in the evening/night, plus he keeps asking me what date valentines day is on and what month its on
