I will add though, that this 'deal' is getting shoddier and shoddier. Far from being "the cheapest way to ski" it's turning into an expensive and uncomfrtable trip. I've 'only' paid £400 for it, but I have in the past done trips for much much less than that, getting a greater level of comfort, a better deal and flying. I appreciate the difficulties of arranging things for a large group, but ski-alpine have taken a relatively simple process and made it bloated, long and - most importantly - poor value for money.

Regardless of how this trip goes, I will not be going next yr.
Same, only my 6th trip, but this is getting silly. It's my girlfriend's first time, just hope it doesnt put her off.

I've avoided getting fussed so far about the lack of organisation on their part by ignoring and not paying any attention to any of the detail thusfar. I highly recommend this approach :yy:

Sadly I am a details person. This approach would not work for me

The flipside is that I'll probably miss / not know a huge amount. I did, for example, completely fail to read that email K sent earlier about needing bed linen, and would have turned up entirely oblivious if he hadn't posted it in another thread.

For all that would have been an inconvinience for you, it would have been rather amusing for the rest of us. Correspondingly, I'm now a little upset...

Then I can only apologise for failing to provide your entertainment :top2:
The other thing I'm still in danger of forgetting is to hire any skis, but I might just not bother until on resort.

Tbf, if you haggle, you'll probably get a better deal in resort anyway.

I'm not a good haggler, but that was my thinking from the off. I'm also thinking the hotel might have a 20% off voucher.

K: what time will we be due back on the 7th? (The time for the ferry at least, if not the times we're due back at "London"/Manchester).

Nm, found it on the ticket. (Dover between 1000 and 1300)

Speaking of the details, I so very very nearly turned up in London 24 hours early because I thought the coach was Thursday night. (I was stopped by sheer happenstance from buying the train tickets).

It had struck me that Thursday night -> arriving at resort Saturday afternoon was an awfully long journey. But, y'know, details :dontknow:.

    Quite.

At the moment, the only details I'm particularly bothered about are those surrounding my new skis (will they get here by Mon? Will I have enough time to have the new bindings fitted before a week on Fri?, etc). Train won't be much cheaper for me if I book in advance, so not going to bother.
