Hahahahaha, keep looking up you gooners COYS
    Tottenham

    League Champions (2)
    FA Cup Winners (8)

    Arsenal

    League Champions (13)
    FA Cup Winners (10)

Small club mentality, the first time your above us so you have to brag about it. If Arsenal were above Spurs it would be seen as the norm, make the most of it while you can because Redknapp, Modric and Bale are off at the end of the season.

I'm gonna say it. Spurs are a better team than us atm.

We didn't deserve anything from this game. Too slow, too laborious. Our wingers were terrible, overun in midfield, and far too much dependency on RVP to score. This isn't a top 4 team at the moment.

Hopefully we can get back on track as soon as possible. The return of Sagna, Wilshere and Vermaelen will give us boosts. However, an injury to RVP, and our season is over.

But so many players would look better in a better team. Sagna hasn't done anything wrong per se, but I don't believe he's one of the top players in his position on the planet, much less the top one.
True but the reverse can also be said with particular world class player playing in a smaller club. To solve issues like this then stats need to be compiled. Do you think that if Vidic was playing for Sunderland he would be regarded as one of the top 5 CB in the World?

I agree that this is a possibility. Also, I think that if he exits in this manner, he'll have (slightly) less of a say in who his successor will be. :holmes:
I should hope that the board wouldn't give any less consideration to what he has to say concerning his successor no matter where we finish this season... would scare me if that were the case given all that he's done

I'm pretty sure Vidic is already regarded as one of the top 5 CB in the world.

    EDIT: Nevermind. Misread your statement.

Maicon is not the same player he was in 2010. Who else? Alves is the only one I can think of.
Actually he is, his period of poor play is pretty much over. Alves, Ramos, Lahm.

This is true; and I think van Persie's feats are all the more astonishing given the side he's playing in currently. No, I don't believe that if Vidic was playing for Sunderland he'd be as highly regarded. I don't watch Sagna week in, week out so perhaps that means I can't comment properly; as you say, the most objective way to decide is by compiling stats and comparing them - and even that isn't flawless because of different styles of play, etc, etc...

Pretty stupid comparison. Alves, Ramos and Lahm play for argubaly the three best teams in the world so will obviously stand out. While Sagna plays for a team still sufferring from the losses of key players in the summer.

If Walcott played as well as Valencia every week, Arsenal fans would be calling him world class

It doesn't matter he is not as good. Its like saying I can't compare Ibra and Zamora because they play for different sides. They play for those sides for a reason, their standard of play isn't a by product of the team they play in. Sagna isn't being judged on just this season either. No one is saying he isn't good, I just said he was the best in the league, but he is simply not on the level of any of those going forward and not a good at defending as Maicon or Lahm or even Ramos.

Maicon? Bale destroyed him. He was acceptable at defending under Mourinho but, like Julio Cesar, he has been terrible for a good season and a half now. Sagna is much better. I think Ramos, Lahm and Alves are better than Sagna though.

Edit: I didn't read the posts above and admittedly don't watch Serie A that much so I could be wrong here. My bad.

I thought ramsey was below-par, especially at the end of the game, giving the ball away every time he got it. Next week against man u hopefully it will be:

    Chesney
    Djourou Koscielny Vermalen Miquel
    Arteta Song
    Walcott Ramsey Chamberlain
    Van Persie

Sick of the crap I'm reading now on twitter.

People who were praising Wenger and calling RVP 'captain vantastic' last month are now calling for Wengers head and Robin a rubbish captain. Pathetic hypocrites.

Even over his entire time at Arsenal Sagna has not got close to matching Ramos, Lahm, Alves or Maicon - though admittedly the latter went through a rough patch last season.

Our Attacking midfielders did not play well and thats why we lost. I was impressed by Swansea today and I reckon Scott Sinclair should earn his England call up..

    We need Wilshere back soon

To be fair, why the hell is Arshavin still playing ahead of Oxlade????

Well Arshavin had a poor game against Leeds in terms of finishing. But in terms of chance creation, he managed to create (and miss) a number of chances. i think wenger thought as long as he creates the chance and Van persie finishes, then playing Arshavin would would work. But after the first goal he went back to his poor form.

Ramsey had a pretty poor game, but he was very unlucky to have that penalty given against him! Hell, the challenge was on him, and he was lucky not to have another injury because of it!
