Hows United's CL trophy hunt going on?
Obviously didn't go well but at least our trophy cabinet is in employment.

You've not needed one for the last 5 or so years. Says it all really.

Are you a Swansea and a Liverpool fan? He wasn't a troll actually
What exactly is wrong with my statement then? Something wrong me preferring our keeper to yours?

It was banter but worryingly for Arsenal fans, it's certainly a possibility for you this season!

Let the neg flow. It won't take away the smug feelings I have with the comment I made

Hows United's CL trophy hunt going on? oh wait...
Tbh I would wait until you progress a little further before using it as a point to joke about. I personally think you will get knocked out next round, but I rate Milan quite highly.

Will be interesting to see how this works out if the Henry talk is true, maybe he can teach Gervinho a thing or two about finishing.

dont get why people are saying henry is garbage now. all of the videos of him on youtube (2011) say otherwise. it's really annoying when footy fans say certain players are **** purely based on their age. if they're good who cares how old they are? i remember when you nerds were saying wilshere isn't "ready" to play CM for england because of his age, or he isn't "ready" for the champions league. well well well...

players should be judged on ability and effect, not age.. zidane at 33 was better than anyone i have ever seen play to this day, giggs smacked it last season and he's what? 37? van de saar, 40/41..

    shut up. please.

That is such rubbish. Because our defence is so crap? Yet you name Robinson here? Also We have conceded 3 goals at home this season. 2 were defensive howlers and the other a own goal. Not sure how what you say adds up in any way. How many times have you watched Swansea this season? Vorm is quality and definitely top 5 of league and for me top 3. Regardless he has been a great buy and has a great future in the EPL. Also cech has not even been top 10 this season. I would also have Vorm over Scz any day ecause i rate him higher. But ofc if I was an arsenal fan I would prefer Scz as he loves the club and is passionate and is also quality.
    1. Schezny is better than vorm
    2. Robinson has more top flight experience than vorm
    3. Vorm in the top 3? You must be on crack

Just out of interest who's in your top 3?

    1. That's a lovely thing called opinion. It's complete *******s in my mind, and i have seen Sczesney and Vorm a lot. As Vorm is new to the league you obviously haven't, so you are just embarrassing yourself :giggle:
    2. Experience, yes, but what has all that got to do with it? It's like saying Almunia is better than Sczesney as he is older with more experience.
    3. Not on crack no. I've only seen Vorm play for half a season, but the way he has played this half season is definitely meriting of top 3. Readers rating him top keeper this season says it all. So once again i will say you embarrassing yourself, and your club. He has the potential to be a top top keeper. If he remains at this consistency he will be playing for a top team either next year or the year after.

Said before, imo it's currently (i'm find if people think otherwise, it's called opinion):

    Hart
    Reina
    Vorm

But the way the keepers are performing this season is fantastic so it's very close. Very few weak keepers this season.

As for the keeper debate, I think you two are arguing form against quality. Vorm is certainly top 3 on form, the stats don't lie, the fact he plays for Swansea help his case even more. Whether or not he is top 3 quality is pretty hard to say based on half a season which is what most people have seen against good opposition. He has been called up and played for the Netherlands squad, I've read that Steklenburrg has said he expect Krul and Vorm to challenge for his spot in the future. If you are going on quality over form, keepers like Cech have to be included. Szcz is a top keeper either way, but still not on the level of Hart and Reina, but thats to be expected with his age.

Totally agree with this, personally I haven't seen him play since the 09 CL final, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and make my judgement after he's played a bit if he does end up coming back.

NYRB, world-beaters that they are  There's a difference between turning in performances for NYRB and turning in performances for Arsenal, although I appreciate standards at Arsenal have slipped and have been slipping for some time now. And alot of that is down to Wenger and his stubborn character and principles.

I guess there can't be too much harm from it all although it's a tad desperate and some may argue it offers a damning verdict on the state of the squad, especially the attack side of things. Some players in the squad may see such a signing as an insult, perhaps?? A slight on their ability and how they are valued by Wenger...

I personally keep hearing and reading that Henry's legs have gone. We'll soon see, I guess.
I don't see why you're trying to criticise Wenger for doing a similar deal to what Fergie did years ago with Larsson - Helsingborg were hardly world-beaters either...

Robinson's shot:save ratio isn't even in top 10 for Premier League keepers this season. It's something like 50% which is dreadful

I wouldn't swap Szczesny for any other keeper out there atm. He's bloody excellent. Has all the makings to become a fantastic servant for the club.

As for Henry -- the discussion so far has been quite silly. If he signs, it'll only be for a couple of months as cover. Everyone knows he's not the same player he once was. He'll hardly feature. A sub appearance here and there but nothing major like starting league games. But if he gets a chance 12 yards out, he'll stick it away. And it's something Chamakh and Arshavin aren't doing at the moment so it'll probably be a positive move. Sol Campbell did something similar quite recently.

Plus it's nice to have a bit of excitement around the club.

he's still good.. still has the technique, vision and control. he's just a little slower (based on recent youtube videos + 2 or 3 NYRB matches i've seen this year)

definitely better than your average PL striker

Vorm has performed better than cech, but he is not better than scz, plus cech can come back to form like he did last season, atm, it's between Vorm, scz, krul and reina for top keeper though. De Gea has an easy job, so does joe hart so I can't include them there, but when they're called, they do a good job.

Why do you guys need to buy a FB? Sagna is hardly injury prone, just had a bad injury. Jenkinson did well in his place, just not ready to play every game. Then you have Santos and Gibbs on the other side, plus you can play Verm and Kos out of position if you need a fill in. Seems silly to be buy based on an injury crisis, which is basically over. Sagna is in training already, then you just need to tide over with Miquel or Verm until Gibbs is back at LB. You have 4 FB's and 2 CB who can play there.

City have Kolarov, Richards, Zabaleta, Clichy, 4 FB. And Bridge who I doubt Mancini would play even in a crisis.
United have the twins who are eternally injured, Evra, Fyers (youth team basically) and 3 CB who we can play out of position, and Valencia a winger.
Chelsea, Cole, Bosingwa, Ivanovich, and Betrand

Seems circumstantial rather than a squad problem. I can see a loan making sense but not a purchase, why sell Eboue who could fill in as a utility man then buy in the next window..
It would definitely be a short-term affair. :yep: Wenger has said that with both the full-back and striker position, he's looking to get someone on a short-term rather than long-term deal; that basically rules out Wayne Bridge (:woo:) and Podolski (in January, at least). I don't think Wenger would sign anyone long-term at this point unless he saw the possibility of getting someone like Reus or Vrsaljko on the cheap (very little chance in January).

Those are things good players do not tend to lose when the age. Look at Bergkamp, Scholes etc.

:facepalm2: youtube videos are a horrible indicator of how good a player is. they can make heskey look like messi.

you have to watch a few whole matches, to see what they do on and off the ball.
