Re: The Arsenal Thread XIGood observation there, well done. You can speculate about anything but it dosen't really mean **** till it actually happens does it?(Original post by rainbow_kisses)
If City win the premiership next year all you guys will look like cocks. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XISo why are you banging on about Nasri when City are still higher than Arsenal in the table? :/(Original post by De Chirico)
Good observation there, well done. You can speculate about anything but it dosen't really mean **** till it actually happens does it? -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XI
What Ballotelli did to Song, considering our players injury records is disgusting. He deserves his 9 match ban. As much as I dislike city, I respect players like Kompany and Hart. I don't respect Ballotelli. You could feel Hart's frustration when Ballotelli got sent off, I bet they're secretly happy hes getting a lengthy ban.
Ballotelli reminds me of that ons troublemaker in class who ruined lessons for all the hard working students who wanted to learn. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XII think its got more to do with the fact that he can't bomb down the wings like Gibbs does. I like Santos, but I'd prefer Gibbs to him no question about it.(Original post by word2yamother)
Anyone notice that Santos was playing very centrally when he came on against city? It was a straight swap for the left back position with gibbs but santos seemed to drift in rather than stay wide, I think thats the reason he has such a good scoring record for a LB. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XISlight difference between speculating about an entire league season in the future then that Nasri and City's chances of winning the Premiership are over when they're 8 points behind with 6 games to go.(Original post by rainbow_kisses)
So why are you banging on about Nasri when City are still higher than Arsenal in the table? :/ -

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIGood news tbh. The stamp on parker was disgusting and song tackle was easily a leg breaker.(Original post by De Chirico)
Potential 9 match ban for Balotelli according to espn:
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...-by-fa?cc=5739
I used to find his antics quite entertaining but let's face it he doesn't do himself any favours. Think City will be better off without the constant disruption he causes. Also that tackle on Song could so easily have been a broken leg, it looks like Song took his weight off it slightly a split second before the impact. Very lucky escape. -

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIBBC says Balotelli will face no action. That is a ****ing disgrace. Song was banned for 3/4 games at the start of the season for an inocuous tread on Barton, whilst Balotelli's tackle could have pretty much ended Song's career in less fortunate circumstances. If the ref saw it and didn't give as much as a free kick, he should be sacked. God knows why the assistant didn't give a foul and then tell the ref it was a bad one if the ref's view was impeded.

Re: The Arsenal Thread XI
I can't believe that the FA have decided not to take action. Football is becoming a ****ing disgrace. Balotelli could have destroyed Song's career. That temperamental bastard deserves to be banned from football altogether.
As for the official who saw it, I hope his position as a referee is seriously considered. He is allowing life-changing tackles to go unpunished.
If Wenger criticises the decision in some sort of press conference, I can guarantee he'll get a fine and a touch-line ban for criticising the referee. I usually stick up for them but they are by no means untouchable.
As you can tell, I'm quite angry/disappointed with the decision.
EDIT: Derry's red card still stands. I'm sure even Man utd supporters felt it wasn't even a penalty let alone a red card. FA are a joke.Last edited by Darth Vader 7; 10-04-2012 at 17:58. -

Re: The Arsenal Thread XII think it's quite natural for us Arsenal fans to get emotional about this. Terrible tackles and reckless play have damaged our players badly so many times before. Yet the people who run the game have done **** all about it.(Original post by Darth Vader 7)

Re: The Arsenal Thread XI
Fundamentally very little difference between Balotelli's challenge and this one by Paolo Guerrero of Hamburg last month.
The difference is Guerrero was sent off and had his ban extended to 8 games by the German authorities, who also 'act according to FIFA rules'.
Spineless FA.

Re: The Arsenal Thread XI
"Where at least one of the officials has seen the coming together of players retrospective action is not taken, regardless of whether they have seen the full extent of the challenge......Retrospective action can only be taken in scenarios where none of the match officials saw the players coming together. The normal scenarios in which retrospective action is taken are for 'off the ball' incidents."
The FA says retrospective action was introduced for off-the-ball incidents where there was no contest for possession and could not be deemed to be re-refereeing an incident.
Never have I heard more bs in my life, the FA are the most useless organisation in football, almost as bad as UEFA. It is very simple:
1- The ref saw the tackle on Song and decided it was not a foul. If this is the case than Atkinson can no longer be a referee and is a liability when it comes to protecting the players on the pitch.
or
2- He didn't see it. This means retrospective action must be taken by the FA and they've failed to do so. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIt's upsetting that the FA are making referees unquestionable and almost untouchable with the decisions they make. I appreciate referees have a hard job but common sense surely prevails as the whole ****ing world realised how bad that tackle was by Balotelli. They're not the only culprits, UEFA are arguably worse.(Original post by milkytea)
