Just read The Kite Runner, I'd give it a 3.5/5. I think its a great read and it challenges some really interesting points but I felt it was almost a bit pretentious? As if the author has tried too hard to make the book a 'nouveau classic.'

I did enjoy it though and I'm going to read A Thousand Splendid Suns as it's by the same author once I've read One Day by David Nicholls.
A Thousand Splendid Suns is a beautiful book, it's become one of my favourites and it's one of those books that stays with you for a long time after you've finished it. I preferred it to The Kite Runner but that's just because I found the story to be more compelling and it made me stop and think a couple of times. I hope you enjoy it.

I just finished reading Animal Farm by George Orwell. I know a lot of people read it during school for English Literature but my class never studied it, and after reading 1984 (another book which has become of my favourites) I wanted to read more of what Orwell had written.
I thought it was good, I've been reading other peoples responses and interpretations to the book which is always great fun, and I've now added Orwell to my list of favourite authors.

One Day by David Nicholls - 4/5

Not the type of book that I'd usually read, but I found it count an enjoyable easy read. It was a novel way of telling a story and I think it worked very well.

    McCarthy's Suttree. Took long enough.

Although it is probably the best book I've ever read, and I have read a lot of books....

Mistress of the revolution - Catherine Delors

3/5 I did enjoy the book but I already could predict what was going to happen way before the ending which I did feel dissapointed by. No real surprises throughout the whole book and sometimes I think that it went on for too long.

    11/22/63 - Stephen King

4/5 - A good story, but the ending wasn't as good as it has been in previous King novels.

    A Game of Thrones.

    4.5/5

It took me a couple of chapters to get into it, but once it did I was hooked. Now I'm looking forward to the DVD release of the TV adaptation.
