Goal for this year is to be able to bench 10 reps of my own weight, i'm like 20kg away from that target at the moment, seems easy but my build isn't really good for benching haha.

To become the strongest and leanest version of myself.

Pretty much already nearly leanest i've ever been through actually giving a **** about what I eat, so thats good!!

With regards to numbers, my PB's are as following, the arrow is what I want to acheive this year.

    BIG LIFT AIMS FOR 2012

LIFT = Overall PB - Recent PB >>>>> 12 Aim

    SQUAT = 150 x 1 - 140 x 1 >>>>> 165 x 1
    DEADL = 215 x 1 - 205 x 1 >>>>> 240 x 1
    BENCH = 115 x 1 - 110 x 1 >>>>> 130 x 1

(recent PB is a lift achieved within the last 2 weeks)
The targets are not huge because I remember this thread in 2011, i was like OMGZ I WANT 20373 kg BENCH etc... and never got anywhere near them! So lesson learned = smaller more achievable goals. Can always re-assess if I hit them.

Thought about some other aims too; here they are (not really organised, just thinking off top of my head atm!)

    OTHER TRAINING AIMS FOR 2012

    1) No serious injuries.
    2) Bodyweight bench for 12 reps.
    3) Stick to the healthy eating habits i've started with in Jan.
    4) Keep playing rugby or going to rugby training at least 1-2 times/month.
    5) Single digit body fat and get a full set abs!

    Re: Training Goals 2012
    Go from:

    (3x5)
    Bench 70 to 100
    Squat 95 to 140
    Deadlift 120 to 180
    Bent over row 65 - 100
Military press 40 - 70 (not sure why my shoulders are so weak in comparison)

    Get under 6:30 2k

    Win races

Edit: I'm just a beginner so please don't laugh too much at my current lifts

    Hey guys!

My flatmate is organising a 10K run for charity on 26th February in Regents Park for anyone who is interested. It's for Sylvia Wright which is a registered charity.

Over the years, Sylvia has built and established a modern hospital, a school for deaf children, two centres for severely disabled children as well as running many vital community health projects. In 2009 she founded a Nursing College which now has 40 students rising to 80 in 2012.

The run is open to people of ALL abilities and you can run, skip, walk or even cartwheel your way through the 10k-whatever suits you!

There will be PRIZES for the fastest runners, most money raised etc to help keep everyone motivated!

For more information please email yasw10krun@hotmail.com

I have attached the leaflet for the run (I hope the attachment works, since this is the first time I have used the attach function).

Thanks everyone! I hope a few of you will sign up, it should be fun!

    Goals (in fitness)
Short term - Get them abs showing again (its been a while), probably take another few months, currently 175lbs at around 14% BF.

Long term - achieve 170lbs shredded (probably take a good couple of years).

Short term: Just generally build a little bit of muscle and get my body fat % lower. Fed up of being a cardio queen which while it has left me 2 stone lighter, it's also left me skinny fat and a little straight up+down!
Long term: Want a nice 'toned' stomach...not necessarily a six pack but some definition would be good. When I get that, then I will get it pierced..Will probably never happen as food is the bain of my life so need to sort my diet out first and foremost.
In general, I just want to be fit really and exercise for my health. Fitness doesn't always correlate to how slim you are and if i'm not in the best shape I can be now at the age of 21, then chances are I probably never will be...

That's a good point. I'm 23 myself and feel the need to get in the best shape possible for me before it's too late. It's just something that I want to accomplish.

This is the prime of our life and the opportunity to get into good habits of exercising from a health perspective and not just for aesthetic reasons. The gym isn't just to 'lose weight' or 'get hench'. I want to be old and fit as a fiddle!! And trying to get the 'perfect' body gets so much more difficult with age I think.

Yep, I'm always impressed when I see an old guy/girl in better shape than far younger people. It is still possible just you have to be more disciplined/work harder as you get older. Good luck with your goals.

    Re: Training Goals 2012
For me, i have a holiday booked for June 26th, so before then i want to be doing a clean and bulk, currently in the bulking phase, and want to get up to at least 12 stone, and then start cutting about 5-4 weeks before holiday. Then after i get back, i want to be bulking back up again until my gym membership runs out, then one month until uni and i can start training again!

    Re: Training Goals 2012
I've been training for one year, spent a lot of it doing a pretty useless upper body hypertrophy routine that I made up myself, but I now have pecs (hooray).

    Current:
    Weight: 69kg
    Deadlift: 133kg
    Squat: 110kg
    Bench: 75kg
    1 Mile run: 5:25
    C&J: 70kg
    Snatch: 55kg

    Goals:
    Weight <69kg
    Deadlift: 160kg
    Squat: 130kg ATG
    Bench: 100kg
    1 Mile: <5 mins
    C&J: 110kg
    Snatch: 80kg
    Vertical Jump: 80cm
    One handed press ups: 5
    Human Flag: 10 seconds
    Handstand: Indefinite hold
    Handstand Press ups: 5
One handed handstand press ups: 1
    A backflip
    A frontflip
    A barrel roll

and i'd like to bench press a girl at some point
