    Strong Zyzz repost.

    Current Stats:
    Weight - 73
    Back Squat - 90 3x5
    Front Squat - 70 3x5
    Bench - 60 3x5
    Clean and Jerk - 65 x1
    Snatch - 50 x1

End of 2012 Goals, just about to go on a long-ass bulk:
    Weight -77
    Back Squat - 120
    Front Squat - 105
    Bench - 85
    Clean and Jerk - 90
    Snatch - 80
That's a pretty high snatch to back squat ratio... Is your technique really good on it or something? I weigh around 74kg (so pretty similar to you) and squat 125kg 3x5, but probably wouldn't be able to snatch that much

I completed my first goal which was to work up the courage to join a gym

My next goal is to attend my induction on friday and boost my overall stamina levels and gain a good fitness level. I might join up with spin classes, it will help on the cardio side of things.

I don't go to the gym or do weights or treadmill but my goals are:

35 pullups non stop. (both wide and narrow grip)...currently on 29 pullups non stop (wide grip)
100 push ups non stop (around 50 currently)
50 sit ups non stop. (around 20 at the moment ) - this is without legs under anything - I lift myself up with body tension.

AS someone bumped it i think it's a good time for people to post in and update on how they're doing with their year goals as we're over halfway now.

    (Original post by Motorbiker)
    Aims
Get back down to 75kg ish and stay there.
Got down to 71kg and now sat at around 72.

Get my squat 1RM to 2*BW before summer and then 5RM to 2*BW before the end of the year
Not been squatting consistently, hit 140kg @71kg bw though so close.

Hit 2 plate bench for a single before summer and 100*5 by the end of the year?
Got to 90kg*3 and hit 92.5*1 for a paused bench but never tried maxing out normal bench. Probs closeish atm.

Deadlift: Hit 4 plate Deads before summer and then 200kg deadlift before the end of the year.
Hit this, Even got 2.5kg over as well. Not done much normal deadlifting from the floor but i got 210kg raised trap bar deadlift. I realised how much my deadlift form sucks so now hate it and prefer trap bar deads a lot.

Run 5k more often and get my time to a reasonable level, sub 22:30, current pb of around 26 minutes but i've haven't run properly in months.
Got it down to 25:12 then stopped running consistently.

Totally want to WSM one arm OH Press a 50kg dumbell at some point. current Pb: 36kg.
Not sure how attainable these goals are as i've only had one year of weight training and it was full of n00b gains but i'd be very happy with these.
Not done much WSM press but my push press has sucked lately so this probably sucks as well.

    Overall, inconsistent. Meh...

    100kg bench by Christmas.
    20 pull ups by Christmas.

The first one may not be possible. I've already lost 0.5 stone in the last week due to fasting so that's gonna set me back a month. Currently on 65kg-ish.

No squat or deadlift target. My knees keep getting injured (not from squat/deadlift) and i'm always suffering set backs. My left knee is clicking and crunching right now so god knows how long before i start squatting again

will be out of the gym for 2 months. spoke to physio. she said is should wait till i fully recover and take it slow - don't want to do damage.

however, it's been 3 weeks and i've already began to lose a ton of weight. im getting thin

    END OF year BUMPAGE

    (Original post by Motorbiker)

    Aims
Get back down to 75kg ish and stay there.
Am at 75. Was done to 71 then came back up...
Get my squat 1RM to 2*BW before summer and then 5RM to 2*BW before the end of the year
Dungoofed. Got to within like 2kg then hurt my back and haven't squatted since october...

Hit 2 plate bench for a single before summer and 100*5 by the end of the year?
Got 100*1 and could probs get it for a double atm, maybe a triple with a nice st up/lift off but never 5...
I blame not benching for like a month over summer...

Deadlift: Hit 4 plate Deads before summer and then 200kg deadlift before the end of the year.
    G
Got the 4 plate and got 210/220 raised trap bar without/with straps...

AND deadlifted a car but dungoofed with normal deadlifts when hurt my back. Otherwise would have been on course.

Run 5k more often and get my time to a reasonable level, sub 22:30, current pb of around 26 minutes but i've haven't run properly in months.
Stopped running for ages then started again but i do this as a more relaxy thing with no exact measuring atm...
Totally want to WSM one arm OH Press a 50kg dumbell at some point. current Pb: 36kg.
Never tried One arm pressing all year. Could probs get like 38 or 40- but never 50...

Not sure how attainable these goals are as i've only had one year of weight training and it was full of n00b gains but i'd be very happy with these.
Tbh the goals were mostly reasonable and if i had not taken a month off normal training for strongman competition over summer i would have got the bench and i would have got squats/deads if i had not hurt myself....

BUT strongman contest was awesome fun and definitely doing it again next year...

    sub 11 for 100m's
    deadlift 240kg by May
    Squat 160x3 by May
    Powerclean 120kg by May

    That's about it really.

I feel like a train wreck at the moment, need to stop going out and getting drunk.
I hit non....squat and deadlif are fairly close and I herniated a disk in my back so kind of happy with those. Powerclean isn't particularly close but I am having a few sessions in the new year with a coach and expect to hit it in February.

My achillies was too screwed for sprinting, but I am able to sprint at the moment and plan on running sub 11 come this May.

Aim for 2012 is to lose 50-60lb (half of what i want to in total) and to get my body fat under 20% (currently 37%).

No real strength goals in 2012 other than to be stronger than in 2011.
I lost about 20lb so fail and fail.

Barely went to gym so a definite fail.

    Re: Training Goals 2012
I didn't reach my goals because I overhauled my routine and my goals.
Bench 100kg - I don't barbell bench atm only inclined dumbells.
Squat 140kg - well I managed 100kg within like 8 weeks of squatting and 5 months down the line I'm only on 90kg. Sums up my injuries, especially them damn knees (not caused by squats btw)
Deadlift 160kg - above, plus stiff back and hips so had to lay off on advice of chiropractor. I did get up to 145kgx5 though.

Good news is I'm down to 11-12% bodyfat having started around 20%+. I'm officially 9kg lighter at least but am lifting a lot more on all lifts.
