Re: Being a Birmingham student: Night lifeI'd say about as many as any other big city, can't quote you exact % though.(Original post by blueprint97)
Are there a lot of black people? And what type of music is usually played at the places that have been mentioned like Snobs?
Snobs mainly plays indie music, I believe. -
Re: Being a Birmingham student: Night life
Hi everyone, i just hoped you'd be able to help me if possible! Going to see Blink 182 on Thursday 7th June at the NIA, and trying to find out about decent/indie rock clubs that'd be having afterparties or just basically a good night. Looked all over the net and couldn't really find anything on thursdays, which i can't really imagine considering the size of the place!
I'm coming from Manchester btw! Thanks

Re: Being a Birmingham student: Night lifeLike every city there's nice parts and good parts. Where the university is based and the surrounding areas (Bourneville, Harborne, Selly Oak to an extent) it's generally quite nice and there's no real problems. I would say it's really good for a student though, there's a great nightlife - which is cheap if you go to the right places, and as a university many of my friends who are there/going there said it's brilliant. I can't really comment on things like the accommodation, but the university looks pretty impressive and I know there's things like good transport links into the city. I don't know anything about the Sports and Exercise Science course, neither can I comment on general sports in Birmingham either.(Original post by bethdunbabin)
I'm thinking about coming to Birmingham next year, is it a nice place to live? And do you know anyone on here doing the Sports and Exercise Science course there I could speak too?
This was posted from The Student Room's iPhone/iPad App
But yeah, I would say go and have a look around on an open day/research the course and the university online!
