For ICT you have read a "book"? As far as I know, this is the best website for ICT paper 1. Try it. You still have 3 weeks to learn the information in this website:

Guys in 6 days we're kicking off for the paper 1 of English language (A) specification. Anyone feeling scared? I'm just worried about section A and the anthology we'll get; I hope the British examiner has not set a bad anthology text!

Equal chances Explorer's Daughter or Game of Polo shall come. but they are "boring" to be set to a relatively new specs.
So P2africa can come(hope it does come, a lot of stuff can be bluffed)

Very true; however, I find explorer's daughter interesting. But for paper 2, I think it will be a poem; what do you think? And yeah, a bit of a challenge to you:

write for me a paragraph with varied sentence structure and one that you will writes as if it were an exam.

lol. To say the truth i have not even started practicing writing for the extended writing stuff.
Ok para with varied sentence structure
"Was there, after all, ever any green door in the wall at all?
I do not know. I have told his story as he told it to me. There are times when I believe that Maupassant was no more than the victim of the coincidence between a rare but not unprecedented type of hallucination and a careless trap, but that indeed is not my profoundest belief. You may think me superstitious, if you will, and foolish; but, indeed, I am more than half convinced that he had, in truth, an abnormal gift, and a sense, something - I know not what - that in the guise of a wall and door offered him an outlet, a secret and peculiar passage of escape into another and altogether more beautiful world. At any rate, you will say, it betrayed him in the end. But did it betray him? There you touch the inmost mystery of these dreamers, these men of vision and the imagination. We see our world fair and common, the hoarding and the pit. By our daylight standard he walked out of security into darkness, danger, and death. But did he see like that? No! Unfortunately not! He was gone, gone as the winds passed by...into the ocean of non-existence. I dare say he will come back. Certainly!"

Good sentence variation this paragraph (from a short story) has.

Nice varied sentence structure; however, why don't you write a short but personal one yourself?

the fact the Jan 2012 were legacy IGCSE anthology texts means that ours will be the new IGCSE texts only; don't you agree?

Re: THE SERIOUS REAL AND ORIGINAL POLL FOR MAY 2012 EXAM (EDEXCEL IGCSE) paper 1 poll
    Thanks,
But you see I am never going to choose a narrative or a short story; it can go all wrong. Nevertheless the documents, which I read just now, taught many devices I have not known or cared about. Indeed it is knowing how to start a sentence, join them, and end them. On the other hand you don't need to utilise sentence variation much when you write a argumentatively. Thus the technique is of limited use. Thinking of them too much may actually waste time; there's so little time to think or brainstorm. Thanks again.
