Thanks,
But you see I am never going to choose a narrative or a short story; it can go all wrong. Nevertheless the documents, which I read just now, taught many devices I have not known or cared about. Indeed it is knowing how to start a sentence, join them, and end them. On the other hand you don't need to utilise sentence variation much when you write a argumentatively. Thus the technique is of limited use. Thinking of them too much may actually waste time; there's so little time to think or brainstorm. Thanks again.
No matter which type of writing you do, but in all writings you must vary sentence structure; there's no option; don't ignore it because it's extremely important! -

Hello gabriel, student, and dhananjay
It is a real shame that only 16 ppl have voted, but never mind
As for on Friday, it is simple- it will be Chinese Cinderella,
Now, I cannot explain 2 u how, but u would be advised 2 take my words
However, a warning, I say it is highly likely 2 be chinese Cinderella , but that 4 me is 51% chance, the k
Next likely will be headless goat with 10%, and passage and explorers daughter with 10%
It is highly unlikely 2 be touching, beach safety, bps messing about, or climat change -

I think you're right; most English candidates this year aren't so interested in what's going to come. They keep telling me read all anthologies. Most English candidates this year are book worms: they just don't have time to log on to the student room! As for your words, I would not recommend that idea. Pearson is a new organization; furthermore, they tend to set new questions unlike Edexcel, which just used to set the same old questions every three years. Pearson won't set any legacy IGCSE anthology, Chinese Cinderella being one of them. In addition, Chinese Cinderella has come in 2005 and 2009, and it can't come in 2012. It will be an anthology from the new 4EA0 specification, believe me, you'll not find Chinese Cinderella because from most exams I've done in 2012 May Pearson just seems to not repeat any questions from legacy IGCSE, so it's unlikely that a legacy IGCSE anthology text will come! Find the mistake before the examiner does, that is just my complementary close so don't be shocked.Last edited by gabriel 41; 23-05-2012 at 16:59. -

Re: THE SERIOUS REAL AND ORIGINAL POLL FOR MAY 2012 EXAM (EDEXCEL IGCSE) paper 1 pollThis seems to be the only poll.(Original post by hereiamdudes)
Isn't there another poll on the internet where more people voted ? Cause we can't really say when only 20 voted.
Seriously I hope it's not gonna be the headless goat thing, otherwise I'm dead -

Guys please also vote for paper 2; you'll see a similar poll like this for paper 2. Just search for it and vote. And now there's no justification for complaints: I can see some people saying their disappointed by the fact that only 20 people have voted; however, this poll was created long back, in December of 2011, and that time it was only me and Dhananjay 2012 who were appealing candidates to vote. There was no other person bothered. Suddenly, at the end moment, why are people so bothered when they never supported us in December 2011? I'm sure if you guys told people about this poll in December/January, the poll would have 200 people by now! So don't complain now because you never supported us when you were supposed to!

Re: THE SERIOUS REAL AND ORIGINAL POLL FOR MAY 2012 EXAM (EDEXCEL IGCSE) paper 1 poll
Section C writing question:
Write a letter to your local newspaper giving your ideas on how the local area can be improved for young people. You may choose to write about the following or any other point you have:
1. Environmental concerns.
2. Transport.
3. Educational facilities.
4. Leisure and sporting opportunities.
According to me, "young people" means 15 -27 year old people. But, my classmates say that is wrong and they say "young people" mean children and small teenagers. Which theory over here is right? And if the later is right, does that mean I'll lose many marks because the whole answer was based on my wrong thinking? I wrote the following points:
1. Improving the assessment of driving schools so young people drive more properly.
2. Encouraging religious and moral values so the local area because more secure and young people stop stabbing each other!
3. Encouraging car pooling or giving young people a free bicycle so they can reach their school/college easily and on time.
4. Encouraging foreign sports bodies, for example FIFA, to develop sports collges in my local area so that "young people" become professional footballers.
5.Encouraging disco clubs and circus
6. I don't remember what I wrote.
Are these points okay? Will I get a good mark? Or will my interpration of young people spoil it? I think the mark scheme allows a wide range of interprations isn't it? Please tell me quickly by posts or PM.Last edited by gabriel 41; 26-05-2012 at 04:15. -

Section B questions.
Describe an event or special occassion that was important to you. You could write about a celebration or any other memorable occassion.
My approach:
Special occassion - IGCSE English exam on 25th May 2012; it gave me pride and made me a hero.
Format - Magazine article.
Length of answer: 2.5 pages.
Is my approach to this answer okay? Please tell me.
How does the writer try to share her experiences with us about the race?
My points: Shows Pakistan has no sense of urgency / lack of punctuality - "are they coming..."
Shows how Pakistan has no rules or order and doesn't adopt the western way of thinking "I assumed the winner was the one who completed the race..."
Shows how Pakistan is crazy, wild, exciting and choatic "wacky races.."
Shows how Pakistan is dirty but at the same time exciting " cloud of fumes and dust... fifty vehicles roaring up in their wake"
Appreciates Pakistani culture "using their whips energetically although not cruelly"
Shows her excitment and passion for the race "horns tooting, bells ringing.... men perched on lorries..."
Are these points valid and suitable for acheving a high mark? Please tell me. -
