How do I stream 3D from PC to TV?
Hi,
I have a 3D TV at home and I'm looking to stream something from my PC to the TV.
Both have HDMI ports but how do I go about doing this successfully? I've tried to experiment a bit with Youtube in 3D from PC - TV but nothing happened.
Any ideas? Will + rep best answer.
Thanks -
Re: How do I stream 3D from PC to TV?Need a graphics card that outputs 3D, then connect the pc to the TV. Streaming it, you need a streamer STB that supports 3D, don't know if any do as of yet though.(Original post by M1F2R3)
Anybody? -
Re: How do I stream 3D from PC to TV?Thank you for the reply, I read somewhere about SBS 3D MKV files (put them on USB) and then place that into the TVs USB port, do you think this method would work?(Original post by rorydaredking)

Re: How do I stream 3D from PC to TV?
The problem here lies with your hardware.
As you are streaming the video from your PC, the graphics card needs to have 3D-enabled (which would mean having a high-end graphics card that supports 3D), and only then can you plug in a different monitor (your 3D TV).
Sadly, even if you have a 3D TV, so long as the hardware you are using to stream the video cannot support 3D, then your video will not display 3D. -

Thanks for the info guys, but do you think putting an SBS MKV file on a USB/portable hd and then plugging that into the TV would work? -
Re: How do I stream 3D from PC to TV?
You can stream 3d content to your tv through your home nework. You need to connect your 3d smart tv to the home network using a nework cable or connecting wireless to your route, (cable is the best option). Then what you do is change the file type from .mkv to .avi and it will work. I have a samsung 3d smart tv and it works every time. You can also use a hard drive throught the tvs usb ports but again the file needs to be changed to .avi also woks on my tv. Streaming from a pc to a tv does not involve the pcs graphics card hence the word streaming the recieving device is the one doing the work. If you physicaly connect to the tv using a media (VGA/HDMI/DVI)cable from the PC then its the graphics card producing the image.
Hope this helps any other probs give me a shout
