Ok I have huge problem and I want to share it with someone and ask for advise. I got an offer for Computer Science with Maths from Clare College!!! But... "This offer is subject to your obtaining and an overall score of 6.0". This grade is the highest in my country and basically means passing school and the state exams with no mistakes at all (or something like 2 mistakes for 50 questions and an essay...). In England you have grades A, B, C.... Here we have 2.00, 2.01, 2.02, 2.03, ................... 5.98, 5.99, 6.00. So your A will be something between 5.50 and 6.00 for us. Moreover one of the state exams is compulsory and it's in Bulgarian Literature. I'm good at Maths and so on, but now I must be perfect in subject, which is absolutely irrelevant for UK universities. I don't know if I explained well how my education system works, but with few words: IT IS VERY VERY VERY VERY UNLIKELY, even for the best students to have 6.0. The best students usually get 5.90 or above, but almost never 6.0.
Moreover I have this letter from the Cambridge Admissions Office: 'Applicants from Bulgaria must achieve an overall score of 5.85-5.9 and scores of 6 in relevant subjects.'
So do you think it will be a good idea if my referee sends them an email explaining all of this? And do you think they could have made a mistake?
Thank you in advance!
P.S.: I don't have any other conditions, but I was supposed to have a STEP in my conditions. Again, do you think they could have made a mistake?
