For my college, apparently last year there were 2-4 places and just over 20 applicants
How do you know this? I was trying to find the statistics for ChemEng and it seems that ChemEng applicants are treated as NatSci/Engineering because there aren't any.

It's on my college's website - not sure if they all do this though?

On the overall statistics they're counted as NatSci/Engineering like you said

That's good then. I got a letter from Pembroke anyway confirming my place, so no worries .
Did you get an e-mail too, or only a letter?

Your overall score is lower than required (right?) but have you met the conditions for HLs? In that case it's more likely they will accept you anyway. Plus, I saw that you're waiting for remarking, so there's still hope.

I don't think there really is a lower limit - your college will look at all the people who missed their offers, see how many places it has left and accept those who were the closest to their requirements. And if you did well on your HLs and only messed up those subjects that are irrelevant to your course, then I think you're still a strong candidate. :P

Just a letter, it would seem. I've still yet to see a change in UCAS Track.

    Hey,

I am not sure if this is the right forum but I will just try it I hold an offer from Homerton College and have to fill in a "Financial Undertaking Form". Have you already done so? Because I don't know what I have to fill in on the lines under Parent/Guardian/Sponsor Declaration. The name or the sum or both?

I would be happy for any advice

All I've got to say at this point, is that I BETTER have made those grades, cz there is no way in hell I'm EVER going through the UCAS path again :P Applying to UK universities was more complicated than the actual interviews at Cambridge! :P So PLEASE Universe, let me get the A* and the A, and I promise I'll bake cookies for my future (hopefully) college classmates :P

    UCAS? Difficult

The only bad part was the personal statement IMO

I guess because I'm not technologically-oriented, I found it to be a pain in the a** filling in all those boxes about the A-levels, doing the PS, waiting for Track to finally upload my offers (I only got two so that wasn't too tragic hahahaha), having to check and double-check all the info, proof-reading ... omg I'm getting a head-ache just thinking about it :P Plus, I was the fool that had to help my best friends, who were even WORSE off with a pc (imagine that!)
At least with the interviews, it was ALL about the books And I'm guessing I'll be the only one walking into the lecture halls (if I make the grades) without a laptop ... notepad all the way
And about the Statement ... I FEEL YOU! I started mine in May 2011, and changed it about a million times :P

I was lazy and started mine mid September

Kept thinking 'I should start it now' during the summer holidays last year and then deciding I couldn't be arsed

    It wasn't difficult, just tedious.

If I do get the grades I'll be using a notepad too just prefer it that way, easier than lugging a laptop around too.

Were they difficult? Depends on the exam board

AQA Chemistry was a bitch this year, they made a mistake on the paper too, expecting low grade boundaries

OCR Physics was generally okay but people drop a lot of marks on the paper so the grade boundaries are usually quite low (70% for an A). AQA Physics was a bit more difficult (or so I've heard).

To anyone interested, the Summer Pooling Guide is public. There are a few interesting bits about missing your offer, STEP grades, etc.
Pretty interesting, thanks for the link
