I'm guessing it's far too late to apply??
..Or is it possible that places would somehow need last minute staff?

Sorry mate, it's way too late to apply. I applied in Decemeber then went for the assessment centre in January. They rejected the first lot of people after the assessment centre stage. They then further rejected a few of those that had passed assessment centre in April/May for no apparent reason. They've also taken so long to put us through screening/accreditation and checking references. It's a total shambles if you ask me; they're even holding the training so close to the start of the games. Good luck trying to apply for another job though

When did they call you for it? Did they also ask about your references? You might want to call them to ask about your training date since the games start in 13 days. What fails, they haven't even sent us an email on where and when to collect the accreditation pass.

I just got my rota and it seems shifts are 7hrs long. Though, that just may be only for the Athletes Village. My training was last saturday morning, 9:00-11:30.
What is your rota like because i asked if i could work as much as possible. I have my training day on the 18th.

Did my training today. Very standard things.. health and safety.. dealing with customers.. till training.. product info and a play in the adidas interactive section.
Very easy to find if you follow the directions in the reminder email. Here they are in case anyone didn't get them.
"Hyde Park Store - nearest tube is Knightsbridge. In the station, follow the pink Hyde Park signs to exit. Once out of the station, turn right and walk past a McLaren show room. Turn right into Edinburgh Gate and the Hyde will be in front of you. Cross the road, turn left and walk along the park and you will see a large green door leading to a white marquee on your right."

Also picked up my accreditation from UDAC. Again, very easy from Star Lane. From Stratford, it's a few stops on the DLR. You can't miss the place once you get to Star Lane. Remember to bring ID with you. For me, I was in and out in 5-10mins, although there have been warnings it could take up to 3 hours when there are big queues.

Did The Retail People email you to collect your accreditation or did they tell you during training that it was ready to pick up then gave you the location? Have you got your rota? I want to do as many hours as possible. Those g4s people are getting like 12 hour shifts :/

In my training reminder email, they told me, and they also told me at the training. I think anyone can now go and pick it up. Nope, no rota yet.

Those of us that are under 18 though, may be restricted to a 40hour, 5 day week.

Glad I'm 18 then how many days before the training did you get the reminder email? I might go pick up the accreditation pass on the day of my training. I'll leave plenty of time between the picking up and training because I've checked the g4s forum and they've been saying the queues are really long.

Lucky you! Maybe 5 days? But I know people who didn't even get a reminder email. When I went, the G4S people had to queue before they went in as well, but we just went straight in

ThEy tell everyone at training to collect it though right? Is there a Seperate queue for the g4s people at accreditation collection centre? Just read a bit of the G4S forum and they had to book a time to collect their accreditation.

What do we take with us? Did The Retail People email you to say it was ready to collect or did you just go and collect it?

Yep, everyone can go and get it. For us, no appointment is required. Just remember to bring ID. Passport ideally or whatever you handed in when you went to the assessment centre.

On the email it says passport (or whatever proof of ID you used in the interview) and valid proof of address, but they only checked my passport On my reminder email for training it said we can go anytime after.

Do you think I should call The Retail People tomorrow morning to ask if I can go pick it up or should it be ready for me to pick up since I've already received the email that I've passed Accreditation?

I think as long as you have a date/have been to training you should be fine just to go.
