I'm 18 and I've been told I look 13... I'm small (5 ft 1) and I have such baby face, as annoying as it is at the moment, I can't wait until I'm older and look younger than I am

Today I was at hospital visiting my Mom and someone came up to me and said 'Don't you go to school?'...
I said to them I finished college early and they were like... You go to college?!

I get this I have a really round baby face and am only about 5'7, so everyone legitimately thinks I'm 13.

We'll be sexy as geriatrics :ahee:

hey! I get mistaken to being 14 too i'm just a tad bit taller than you, and same weight. I guess seeing as you're 21 that must be a pain, but tbh think of it positively, atleast when you're 50, you'll perhaps look in your 30s rather look younger than older!

Give it some time...soon All the girls will be begging to be you, and all the guys to be with you

Can't say for sure, but I get the feeling the entire human life is wasted with thinking of the following thoughts (in this order):
    1) wishing to be older/look older
    2) wishing to be younger/look younger
    3) wishing I drank more dr pepper during my life....
    You're at stage 1...

In the mean time...keep your ID with you all the time, and try to not let it bother you so much
Doctor Pepper?! What?? I'm so confused.

Looking ridiculously young runs in my family. (From both sides evidently as my mum is not my sisters mum)
    Here's my sister and me

    I'm 20 she's 30
and here's my mum when she was 19/20

My mum's 60 this year and doesn't look anywhere near it, so it's good in the long run!
    Gorgeous family!

See, a lot of people say "Be happy that you look younger than you are!", but personally I hate that. Maybe it's because some people see it differently for men (some people think that if you're a girl who looks younger than she is, it's cute, but if a guy looks younger than he is, it's pathetic), but I'd rather look older than younger. I'm 19 and I look 13 when I've shaved. If I have stubble, I look about 15 due to having a chubby face and being extremely skinny.

I'm generally not happy with the way I look anyway, but what annoys me is the feeling that looking younger keeps me back at times. For instance, there's times in work where customers won't listen when I answer their questions because I'm "like 12". If they think that, I generally don't bother with them anymore, but it still irritates me. And I also have friends who act so patronising because "I can't take you seriously because you look like a little kid".

Yeah, some of this I could probably control myself (e.g. telling my friends how idiotic they're being), but I think I'd probably be happier with my appearance if I didn't look so young.

Yep. I'm tall, but at the same time I have quite a round face (especially obvious when I tie my hair up), round nose and high cheekbones - all features that make me look quite young facially. Also I'm quite skinny and I don't think I look overly developed apart from my wide hips - according to my grandmother they're "good hips for giving birth to children" xD ... I don't know what to make of that but I think I'm often mistaken for being a tall 14-15 year old rather than an 18 year old Particularly when I have no makeup on. I definitley need to carry ID with me if I want to buy any alcohol.

I'm 23 and regularly get mistaken as 17, 18. It can get somewhat annoying, but it's never really caused any huge inconvenience (other than almost having my ID confiscated at a bar).

Think I may have already responded in this thread ages ago but if not - OP, I have exactly the same problem! I'm 5ft, petite build, have a baby face and get told I look about 15/16 (on a good day) when I'm now 22 :-|

One thing that I've found to help is this:
If you have a round face, waving/curling your hair detracts from the roundness.
If you have an angular face, wearing your hair straight emphasises the chiselledness.

    Also not wearing t-shirts. Ever.

This is a blessing! You'll have the benefits of looking young when you have the wisdom and money of age.

I'm 21, but I look about 14. I dress my age - wear mature, fitted clothes and make up, but no matter what I do I still look like a teen and people give me dirty looks because they think I'm a **** who's trying to look older than her age. Whenever I go to work people ask if I'm old enough to work here or treat me like I'm stupid. I want to have children in a couple of years but I know I'm going to get so many nasty looks and comments because people will think I'm a teen mum.

So I went to the store the other day, to buy Boost Energy Drink. The lady at the counter said I looked too young and didn't let me buy it.I told her I'm 21 and she responded "You look under 16". Also, when I'm having a walk in the park people are always asking me "Shouldn't you be in school?"

I have two sisters (the youngest being 15) but people always mistake me for being the youngest in the family.

I'm getting really depressed about it. I'm happy with my body and I think I'm pretty, but I just look so young and I can hardly do anything without someone commenting on how young I look or thinking that I'm a kid. I just want to look like a woman :/ does anyone have any advice on how to cope with this?

I look young because I'm short (5'1), skinny (weigh just over 7st and can't put on weight) and I have a round, baby face.

I am 20 and I look under 17. To be frank, I FEEL 17 as well. I'm a bit of child, would rather be watching the disney channel with the bro (10) than out drinking. It's hard to get served in bars and stuff, I got ID'd in WETHERSPOONS on thursday (I wanted a burger and a J20 which is non alcoholic) because it's an "over 18's pub so I can't serve you". Huh. Welll, it's annoying definitely, but the way I see it, I look like a kid now but in 10 years time? Yummy mummy baby! Hahha. I'm being daft. But seriously, you may be glad of it in a few years. Try not to sweat it and don't dress up to look older because you feel you have to. Dress to please yourself and don't care what the people may say (to quote Eliza Doolittle) what the people may say 'bout me!

Hey, seriously don't worry about it ... I have this problem, Im turning 22 next month but I look about 17/18. Every now and then I would be down about it because of some problems you are highlighting in your post, but actually, this last year I have decided that I actually enjoy looking younger than my age..In a few years time I'll still look 20
Be positive about it, there's nothing you should do to alter or change how people view/talk about you, just how you view yourself, just be happy about it.

    i get this
im almost the same as you: 20, 5"0, and a little over 7st

i've been id-ed for just about everything
including filling my car up and trying to by 12 certificate dvd from tescos

but i dont see why its a problem

i dont know why people would be giving you dirty looks
    ive certainly never had that
i did used to work behind a bar and was often shot snidey comments when asking for id's because i myself didnt look old enough to be behind the bar in the bar in the first place
    i never minded though

tip wise - perhaps the fact your obviously trying to look older with your clothing and make up is actually having a counter active effect?
and if people talk to you like a child turn round with something incredibly intelligent, notify them of your age, and enjoy the look of horror and confusion on their faces!

but like i said i really dont see why its a problem?
