I saw it, it looks good. I have to say I do find american television series to be very drawn out, usually I'd expect what happened in tonight's episode to occur in just the first half of the program.

Have I been living in a box? I've barely heard of Zooey Deschanel

Not the the xmas album. She&him Vollume One and Volume 2, they're good
Are they good? I've been thinking about downloading one of their albums for a while, from a sheer musical point of view, it's quite folksy isn't it?

Ye it is. I like them. They aren't amazing but it is easy listening. Check youtube for them, I prefer volume one to two.

I thought it was crap personally. I don't like american comedies that use really obvious, lame jokes and that was another one. That was the girl from Elf right? She looks good but MAN is her voice annoying.

    (Original post by rural_boy)
Yeah it was definitely one of those mainstream US comedies which tend to be quite similar, and although I usually hate pilots I thought it was pretty good...

One of my friends has already seen the first season and they said it gets better.
It gets better. I enjoy watching it, its quite feel good like glee but not laugh out loud like how I met your mother or smth like that.

Is it as good or better than Ugly Betty? As a lads lad, it was a guilty pleasure for me.

I didn't particularly enjoy the pilot but gave the rest of the series a go and i'm really enjoying it, Nick is deffo the best character though.

Agree. He is obviously the main guy character. Him and Jess will be a sort of Rachel and Ross scenario.

I thought it was terrible and boring.

On the plus, did have the nice black man from happy endings in!

    Re: New Girl
I thought it was pretty terrible and formulaic (quirky awkward girl, sensitive guy, tough guy, douchebag guy who can all somehow afford palatial apartment + generic model friends) and not even in the good, comfy, familiar way that Friends etc can be, I just wanted to punch the TV. Plus I dislike Zooey Deschanel anyway, I resent her being the go-to 'Random and strange but cute girl!!!' in everything (and I could never forgive her for her shocking performance in The Happening, even if I wanted to).

That said, I'll probably still watch it to see if it gets any better/comes to the conclusion that everyone can see from a mile off...
