Oh ok, I applied early/mid March but that might not even be early enough! Windsor Terrace was my second choice too(Original post by -Taz-)
I applied early-mid April
Yeah i am a bit disappointed about not getting to Castle Court but oh well
It's the one on/nearly on site isn't it?
-
Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012You never know, March is pretty early(Original post by Alice.)

Yeah it's right near the library (as my mum excitedly pointed out
)

Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012How did they inform you, email or post?(Original post by -Taz-)
I've just received my accommodation offer!
It's for Windsor Terrace (ensuite) which was my second choice. Castle Court was my first preference
Anyone have any pictures of the ensuite rooms at Windsor Terrace? The virtual tour only shows you the washbasin rooms
Oh and i had an unconditional offer which i firmed a while ago
I also firmed a while ago, and applied reasonably soon after that. Desperate for either Marris or Ricky as the are so close to the med school. -
Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012Just got an email this morning saying they'd made me an offer of accommodation(Original post by Steerforth)

Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012Thanks, I do hope i hear back soon. It won't make any difference, but I imagine it will be nice to know where I will be leaving next year. Also through the likes of TSR and facebook I may be able to find some of my future flatmates!(Original post by -Taz-)

From their website
UF offers (unconditional offer, firmly accepted) you should receive details of your accommodation allocation during May.
CF offers (conditional offer, firmly accepted) you will receive an offer of accommodation within two weeks of receiving your exam results, providing your offer has been confirmed and we have received your online Accommodation Application. If you have not heard anything by 31 August, please contact us.
CI offers (conditional offer, accepted as insurance) or clearing, are not guaranteed accommodation. Such applications will be dealt with after 1 September 2012.
Alternatively, if you have not heard anything by Wednesday 5 September, you should contact us.
thx a lot

Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012I got my offer for Castle Court too!! How can you tell the flat, I have the room number, but not sure about the flat(Original post by Alice.)
Got my email just before 7pm and I got into my first choice of Castle Court
Flat 4A anyone?!

On your accommodation offer it says something like your name, applicant number, room, accommodation address? It's there(Original post by Kat.Tales)
I got my offer for Castle Court too!! How can you tell the flat, I have the room number, but not sure about the flat
So it says room x flat 0x A or B Castle Court etc.

Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012Wait that didn't sound right, I meant 14 hours per week, not in total(Original post by weirdwakkidolli)
Yeah - I loved Uni the first time. But, if it's possible, I think I'll love it more. I've done the whole "getting used to living on my own" thing, plus I think Newcastle Uni is much better suited to me, so it's all good
14 hours in total? Wow that's good haha I'm crap at focussing though, so sometimes I need the contact hours :/ but then again, it means I don't have to get up early, if I don't have lectures - always a plus
Yeah I hope so too. I like to feel at home - I'd make the best of it but that doesn't mean I'd like it
Some people absolutely love teaching - my friend is on his year abroad atm, and was a language teaching assistant in Germany for a few months - I've never heard anyone so happy as when he was talking about his classes and stuff. So some people love it!! It just wasn't for me - and like you said, you can only try!
14 hours per week seemed very little for me compared to what I was used to. Haha early morning lectures are the worst, and I have missed a few of them as well
Can't even think about the future at the moment, I'm stuck in exam period and the weather is so hot. It's like torturing me as I should be revising but I want to be outside in the sun. I tried revising outside but it just doesn't work

Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012I received an offer (for Gurney House, Windsor Terrace) a few days ago.(Original post by Alice.)
Anybody know when unconditional offer holders hear about accommodation? -
Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012
Booo. I hate Newcastle's system, I wish they could save some places at the halls for conditionals! Hopefully Central Link won't get filled with unconditionals like Windsor Terrace does. Although I would have preferred WT as my first choice, but I knew there would be 0.1% of getting it (especially for ensuite). Bloody gap years!

I only read the first page because I was in a rush to go to work. Flat 3A

Re: Newcastle accommodation thread 2012What is their system exactly? Do they spare no places for conditionals at all in places like castle court/windsor terrace?(Original post by PVisitors)
