For those of us who recognise that allowing any body of power to determine what others may be allowed to see, hear or read is dangerous and archaic.

Do you recognize that

1- A very nice irony would be created if your society was censored (banned) in TSR?

2- That sometimes that power might be applied to children and it would be mostly agreed upon (obviously for adult humans there should not be such a power over us).

French Approach believer here... 12 certificates for Intimacy, LA Confidential, Sex and Lucia, Goodfellas etc. Too many protectionist extremists trying to shelter children from anything risque.

I do believe certain things should have more than a 12 certificate, but not that many- about 2% of mainstream films are 16+ in some European countries, with no 18 or only for porn

I'll happily join this.
Of course.
Freedom of expression is a key human right and, even if the thoughts someone wants to express are a bit ****ing ridiculous, they still should have the right to be able to say it.

Its just another exampleof how the American Government is influenced by big corperate companies. Pizza is classed as a vegetable so that catering companies can keep feeding generations of school children on cheap food. SOPA and PIPA want to censor the internet under the ruse of piracy laws. If they can remove content from the internet and make it unavailable for the public to view then not only does this mean no free music, its no picture sharing, no quoting people and inherently no being able to publish your views as everything will be monitored and everyone is liable for what they post online.
Is this still active? In the wake of recent events its high time to get this group going again.
It seems that this group is dead, but you can change that! Show your support if you believe in free speech on private internet platforms.

I agree most censorship can be bad, but a swear filter is useful. The only reason swear words are a swear is because we rarely use them. In that case, swear filtering is more like conserving energy rather than restricting communication. We need those swear words to remain lessened and special when we communicate via the internet, which brings together people from all over the globe that you do not necessarily need to swear at.

I have zero problem with swear filters. Personal insults are technically freedom of speech but only take away from the discussion, not add to it.

Its about censoring facts and ideas, which is unacceptable.
