Re: WhatCanISay turns from a caterpillar into a butterfly. It's good that you acknowledge that your food today was atrocious, but I really really urge you to stick to what you say, that you're going to address it. You have got to eat more than this. What you ate today was a starvation diet. I mean this in the nicest possible way - I don't want you to stave yourself, it's not good for you. You can win the contest (if that's the whole reason you're doing this) in a healthier way, honestly you can.(Original post by whatcanisay)
Day seven
Breakfast - muller rice pot & a hard boiled egg
Lunch- brown bread toasted with margarine.
Snacks- a peice of juicy fruit chewing gum and diet coke,
Today's food was atrocious, I will be addressing that by making sure I make
My lunch to take to school the next day.Last edited by PinkMobilePhone; 14-01-2012 at 00:44. -

Re: WhatCanISay turns from a caterpillar into a butterfly.I'm NOT starving myself, if I was, I wouldn't have enough energy to do day to day activities like attending school, let alone any amount of cardio.(Original post by tinktinktinkerbell)
you want to lose 44lbs in 12 weeks
no wonder you're starving yourself, i hope the judges take this into consideration when judging
Why are you so intent on getting me thrown off the competition? I'm not doing this to win the competition..I'm doing it for a healthier body, and a 'normal' BMI.
And its 26.4 pounds in the remaining 11 weeks, that's 2.4 pounds a week if I was going to be 85kg.
for 80kg, in the remaining 11 weeks its about 3.4 pounds a week,
that's not even hard!Last edited by whatcanisay; 14-01-2012 at 10:44. -

Re: WhatCanISay turns from a caterpillar into a butterfly.
Okay exams are over, an I will resume my blog from tomorrow onwards, and you fus are probably wondering if I've gained tonnes of weight, and I have. I now weigh 98kg, so put on one kilo since last weigh in, although it's upsetting, it's not surprising as I did eat a lot more due to exam stress, and I did practically no exercise.
However on the overall progress I've lost two kilos since I started this competition.
and this is just a minor setback, so I guess it's business as usual starting from tomorrow.

Re: WhatCanISay turns from a caterpillar into a butterfly.
I haven't updated in forever, and my weight certainly has suffered,
I'm now 98.3, i was slightly scared of weighing myself after what can only be described as binging for the past four weeks.
so I've decided on a new course of action to take things slow and try and fit in regular exercise.
i will also try and blog daily about food etc, to act as an incentive (because no-one wants to write that they've had a ton of chocolate)
Breakfast - Large bowl of fruit and nut cereal
Mid morning snack - chicken noodle soup - 52 calories -
Re: WhatCanISay turns from a caterpillar into a butterfly.I think you need to try and find some form of exercise that you can come to really enjoy doing - there's something out there for everyone if you search hard enough, personally I love lifting and so look forward to every gym session. Looking forward to working out is half the battle.(Original post by whatcanisay)

The other thing you need is the will power to stick to this. You'll never lose the weight unless you want to do it for yourself, and you need that motivation to be greater than your motivation for a temporary high in the form of binging, etc.. It's also far easier to make small, gradual subtle changes than to wake up one morning and put yourself in a massive deficit for most people. Rather than counting calories and adding up everything you eat, why not, for now just focus on replacing one unhealthy thing in your diet every few days with something healthier. Once you've improved your diet and are maintaining/starting to lose you can then look to progress into a deficit - that way you're far more likely to stick it through.
You need to think of it as a change in lifestyle rather than a quick fix, or you will never lose the weight and keep it off. Your blog to date is the classic example of yo-yo dieting, with a mixture of extreme deficits some days and then massive binges when you can't take it any more - this wouldn't be happening if you took a less extreme, more considered approach, viewing it as a permanent change rather than a diet.
You can still eat the "bad" things, having the odd off day won't hurt you, the key is that you get straight back to your healthy diet the following day, rather than writing off a week, month... (or worse still until next January).
[ This is from someone who went from ~210lbs (~95kg) to ~165lbs (~75kg) over the course of 8 months, after years of doing similar things to those outlined in this thread. I'm heavier now after bulking up a bit gaining muscle, and on my way to getting down to 10-12% bf before summer. ]Last edited by mituozo; 18-03-2012 at 11:18. -
