Ok, i am NOW giving it a rest, looking at solutions, etc. Im not even going to look at anything until results day. STEP had made me a LOT better at maths than i used to be (and i thought I used to be good).

Tends to be one or two days before results.

Do we get the step results at midnight on the 16th? And do our schools receive them as well or is it only online?

Yes and yes. (assuming by midnight, you're referring to early morning on the 16th)

Ah ok thanks. So does our school get them with all the A level results? I was just curious as I thought they'd got rid of the paper certificates for step and it was just online now... Thanks for the help

Whether it'll be the same this year remains to be seen but usually, the exams officer will have online access to them on results day - presumably at the same time that they become available to you but I'm not sure how it works internally.

We're gonna know the grade boundries before? Where will it be, on the official site?

Yes, it will be on the STEP home page entitled "STEP 2012 Explanation of Results" or something to that effect.

Take it from someone who has massive panic attacks at the thought of exam results; its too early to start thinking about it now! Go watch the Olympics or do something else fun for a while, you've certainly deserved it no matter the outcome!

Do STEP results go direct to UCAS or does one have to notify universities of their STEP results if it forms part of their offer?

If they are part of your offer then the universities normally get them. You could always check by phoning on results day to see if they have received them, but in most if not all circumstances the universities get them.

I'm not sure if anyone directly connected to the university marks them. It's Cambridge Assessment, the parent company of OCR, who set and mark the exams.

By the way, am I right in thinking that we should start registering with the online results service on Monday (tomorrow)?

Oh… *blushes*… that's quite cool. Gosh, I don't know what you would make of mine. They'll probably say, "good thing we didn't give him an offer."

I registered back in June I think (straight after the exams)

And Siklos said it's 3rd, 4th year and PhD Cambridge mathmos that do most of the marking.

It says "Please make sure you register no earlier than 10 days before the advertised results release date." But I can't think why.
