Not sure I always assumed that they emailed you the information on how to pay. So I'm still waiting on this email which might never come :P.

I am probably wrong, but are you doing European Law?
Yes , I'm looking forward to move to Maastricht. I remember reading that the uni was sending out invoice in the beginning of june....

Same here! I've never been to Maastricht, have you? Nice to talk to someone else on the same course as me . Yes I read that too. Don't worry about it too much the fees don't need to be paid until late August. It is reassuring to know that it's not just me who hasn't been asked to pay the fees yet.

I got that today too. Think it is just an email that they send to everyone. I wouldn't worry about it.

Well I say a gap year...I applied to uni last year and decided that I would rather go and study abroad (Holland) as I had visited Amsterdam in the summer. So I did a college course instead during my year off. Just to add something in a personal statement to show the unis that I hadn't spent a year in bed watching the walking dead .

Good idea. Although I have a feeling Maastricht is going to be pretty good You mentioned Inkom. Have you got your ticket () yet? Think someone mentioned ticket before lol. Glad this thread is here to keep me on the right track.

They even have all weather tyres :P.
Woah, so yr decision to go to Maastricht will really change your life Hehe since you keep talking about IRN BRU imma guess that you live somewhere northern like Scotland?? I've never had it but i've heard that it tastes like bubblegum ohh does it have real iron in it????
Don't worry it is never a wasted year when your watching the walking dead ...well in my opinion anyway.

no, i don't think im going to INKOM, i wanted to but we are going on holiday to turkey and i don't think imma get back in time, by the time i actually do go to maastricht i will be nice and pink from the sun. r u gonna go to INKOM?

It's a big town bordering on a small city, think there is a population of around 120,000. I only really saw the centre where the streets are cobbled & really narrow at times ...the only danger is being run over by bikes! But it didn't feel too big as I thought it might have (I'm only from a town of 20,000 so to me Maastricht obviously sounds pretty huge in comparison), but most families live in the suburbs then venture to the centre at weekends it seemed. There's shops galore in the centre so shopping wise you'll be set(Y) ...and I'm sure I saw some baked beans in the food shop, but I would take some over with you just to be safe (I'm gonna take some English food over which I don't think will be over there, I'm sure you won't be the only one ).

No 2hrs is just the train :/ unfortunately. The flight is usually 1hr to either Brussels or Amsterdam. Brussels to Maastricht is 3 trains taking 2hrs (from what I know atm). Amsterdam to Maastricht is 2 trains taking 2 1/2hrs.
Wow it really is small, im kinda happy that it is though...it'll be much easier for it to feel homey. Well i think it'll feel pretty small to me, i've only ever lived in big cities....i think birmingham's pop is 1,016,800 (hehe googled it). Yesss ok you just made me sooo so happy, there are shops, i love how the food shops look over there they remind me of the japanese ones

Im asking for food to be sent over hopefully it'll happen, but i'll be back regularly anyway so whatever i can get through customs will be coming with me.

    yea im doing brussels....i think

yeah it will. Yep I'm from Scotland. Free fees here so I hope I have made the right decision as I will obviously have to pay for tuition. Does taste a bit like that. That is what foreigners say anyway :P I always take some on holiday it and crack open a bottle and pass it around. No real iron in it. That's why they had to change the name from iron to IRN as it falsely stating that it has iron in it.

Definitely not wasted. When a zombie invasion hits Maastricht we will be well prepared.

I'm planning on going but I'm not really a drinker so I don't know if it's my scene to be honest. I'm going on holiday mid June then I go back home for like two days and round about the 15th of August I head to Maastricht.

You are the first person I've chatted to that is doing the same course as me. A few of the European Law applicants have posted in the thread but they don't seem to hang about :P.

I still don't have my accommodation but once that is out the way then my main concern will be getting a bank account for over there.

It will take some time to get a bank account, as we need to be registered first and get a personal #....so I need to bring some cash. . .. which I hate as I only use my credit card.

If you are from the UK then you could look into a Post Office travel money card. They allow you to put up to 6,500 euros on it or £5,000 and you can pay for things like you normally would in a shop and you can also withdraw money at a cash register. I'm currently looking into getting one.

Oh it costs 2 euros to withdraw cash...

Oh didn't realise you were from Norway. I now remember that you mentioned that the government helped overseas students. At least you have that. When will you be heading over to Maastricht and are you planning to go to Inkom?

The government kind a have to support student that is going abroad, as the quality of the unis are so poor. There are very few foreign students that come to study.....and most of them leave after the first year, as they get scared by the unis.

I'm planning to go to Inkom, but I'm not sure I'll be going to all of the parties, as I'm not a drinker. I never get wasted and don't remember what I've done, and etc.... Some of my friends don't get that part, but I just don't like getting drunk

Same I'm planning on going but I'm not a drinker. Quite a few people don't get why I drink too. I tried to have a can of beer yesterday but I couldn't even finish it haha just didn't feel like it can't understand how people go through litres of it in a night I just end up getting fed up of it.
