Well that just leaves labour and they are not much better either.

No they don't. Just have to decide whether we stay in the city or move to the country where there will hopefully be less of them. Might also need a chef :P. Oh better make sure he isn't watching for he last couple of episodes there is a lot of opportunity to ruin .

Drunken people often provide a bit of entertainment for the sober or less drunk .

Is your place near the uni? Google maps says mine is like an 11 minute walk from the uni but I think they are taking the scenic route.
Tis true, maybe the green party will rise...hehe i dunno, do you watch heroes? i want Hiro Nakamura's power to stop and freeze time to travel to the future to see who wins the nxt election *random i know
Akk, i can't believe we forgot food, defiantly a chef, and if it's possible some additional cookers, you know we might as well just take some restaurant staff....food is so important :P

Yea, they do but i find drunk men so scary, they r always so confused and creepy..well the ones in Birmingham are anyway

Ok 18 mins to the university college, ok it wasn't that long last time i calculated...but is 18 minutes really that long? plus it takes a really weird route.....

How are you getting all your stuff over there? im driving cuz it's cheaper and i won't get anything confiscated

No, I'm not sure yet. Have you?

It would be good for the green party to get more seats. Then again even though I'm against the conservatives...if they were led by Boris Johnston that would be pretty cool.

Nope I've never seen heroes. It's not believable...zombies on the other hand are totally believable .

Yeah walking down the street at night with drunken groups trying to start fights etc.

No 18 minutes isn't that long. You will get used to the route and it will take less time. You could always run :P it will take have the time and it will also get you in shape for running away from zombies.

Well...haha I don't expect I'll be taking much over because I'm going on holiday and rather than going home after the holiday I'm leaving early and heading off to Maastricht. So I'll have clothes, laptop, books and other necessities :P. Whatever I can fit in two bags lol.

About the invoice for the tuition fees...I understood that I can only use option 2 if I have a dutch bank account. The email stated that the tuition fees have to be paid 2 weeks after receipt of this email... Does anyone know if it's possible to choose option 2, and get a dutch bank account when I move there in mid August? I need to be registered to get a BSN number, so I can get a dutch account.

Not sure yet either but criminal law and contract law are compulsory which is good because they will probably be my favourites .

I've probably already asked you lol but when do you plan on moving?

By option 2 do you mean paying in instalments? If so, I'm not sure. I'm paying in full so that it is over and done with. You might want to contact the uni.

hehe... I'm moving 8th of August. I would prefer to move 15th of August, but my parents want me to come earlier as they wanted to go on Holiday:rolleyes: I think they just want to get rid of me.

I've decided to pay full and be done with it. I know that I'm qualified for the lower tuition fee, but in order for me to pay the lower tuition fee, I've to provide proof of residence in the Netherlands..that is the only thing I have to do. Are you just paying the lower tuition fee ca. 1700+1200€ (don't remember the exact amount) and then provide proof of residency when you move there?

Have you decided any specific date for when you're moving?

Omg I'm arriving on the 7th of August :P. It was going to be later but like I said in a previous post to Pineapple I'm cutting my holiday short and heading over as it's cheaper.

Yeah I'm going to pay the lower fee and provide proof of residence once I'm there. Do you know whether the proof of residence is like a copy of the tenancy contract or once you have registered with the municipality?

Shame about the mix up. Hope you don't have too far to travel. Good luck with your interview.

Btw what course have you applied for?
Applied for the liberal arts course, but I utterly bombed the interview earlier today. Time to apply for the hague and amsterdam looks like.

Wow, I'm taking a plane in the evening to Amsterdam the 7th of August and spending a night in a hotel, so I'm arriving the 8th of August in Maastricht.

The reason I had to spend a night in Amsterdam is because there are no direct flight from Norway to Amsterdam in the morning. I figure that it's easier to get around during day:rolleyes:.

The University want proof of that you have registered with the municipality, at least that is what I've got to know.

I'm doing Paris->Liege->Maastricht. Will probably have to spend a couple of nights in a hotel in Maastricht while I get my accomodation sorted as it's semi furnished.

Do you think you will stay in the hotel or will you explore Amsterdam?

Are you going to be taking Norwegian food over with you?

Looks like I will be busy the first few days of my arrival .

I think I will be staying in the Hotel, as I arrive quite late at night. Yes, I will definitely bring some food with me, but I hope it don't confiscated in the airport once I arrive.

Same her, but I will be busy getting to know the shops especially food shops. My mother is worried about what I'm going to eat once I move there, so the first thing she wants to know is the type of foods and where the shops are:rolleyes:

How far away is your accommodation from the Law faculty?

It shouldn't get confiscated. It's never happened to me before anyway.

First thing I am going to do is find a Burger king or a Macdonalds :P we don't have them where I live so whenever I travel I always get one. Same with my mother I don't cook very often and it's going to be a big change having to cook like twice a day .

Well google maps tells me I'm 1.5km or 11 minutes walk away but they take a mental route. The street is Zakstraat if you want to check it out. Are you close to the faculty?

It's 1,46km away and it's close to the railway station. The street is Professor Pieter Willemsstraat.

I think I should bring or buy some cooking books, so I don't get bored eating the food I make.

Same here! We have no proper fast food where I live so everytime I go to England or anywhere I have to have one.
You'll be pleased to know there are several in Maastricht, definitely one on the market square and one on the vrijthof square

Living near the station will be handy. There is a cook book for students called 'nosh 4 students' I was thinking of getting it. It has loads of good reviews on amazon but then again with the internet it should be easy enough to find a quick recipe .

very pleased to learn that there are a few about. Macdonalds in Europe is more expensive than in the UK I find though so I don't think it will be a regular occurrence. I hope there are a few Indian restaurants too after a couple of weeks I will probably want a Korma :P.

What course are you doing? I'm sure you've said it before but I'm too lazy to go back and find the post so please excuse my laziness.

Tell me about it! When I visited there seemed to be a good selection. My main weakness is chinese so I'm hoping there'll be somewhere pretty good! I'm really going to have to budget well, something I currently don't do, so it's going to be tough! So where do you live which doesn't have Macdonalds?

I'll be doing International Business. You're doing law right?

I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food so if I'm ever in a chinese it's always sweet and sour chicken for me...then again when I'm in an indian it's always a korma...so I don't really know which I'd prefer.

I can't budget either I'm always planning what I'm going to spend my money on next so I'm expecting a rough first year in Maastricht. Hopefully by the second year I'll have learnt my lesson and will be able to budget.

I live in the Northern Isles wbu? Yep, I'm doing law .
