For me last year it was either the middle or end of March However I got an email through telling me that the application system was open, or you can just keep checking on the website if its the same as it was last year and it should say "Accepting applications for 2012/2013"

Do you know if most people who applied in spring got a place in the accommodation? It says only 60% of first years get in accommodation which seems a bit low. Most other unis seem to have enough for nearly all first years and then some 2nd and 3rd years.

Ah yes it will say that for a little while, it should be updated soon and the university will email you.

It isn't done on a first come first serve basis. It will depend on whether you have any medical or disability, whether you are a medicine or dentistry student and how far away from the university you live. I applied and yes, I got a place in halls, however those with unconditional offers will find out in the summer (about July time for us last year) and then those with conditional offers, when you meet your entry requirements then you will find out whether or not you have a place.

Although, it isn't all doom and gloom if you don't go into halls, I know many people who have gone into a houseshare and have met some great people through that and the university will help you find a house if you do not get into halls.

so don't worry about it If you have any concerns you can email the accommodation office and they will be able to help you.
