city or greenwich mech eng??
hey
i recently recieved my offer from Manchester, brunel, city uni london, greenwich and rejection from queen mary's which they still haven't explained -_- , i've decided to rule out brunel as i'm very fussy in the area i am and with campuses etc and it didn't look great compared to city and greenwich, unless someone can say otherwise?
manchester if my first choice with CCC
so basically my offer for city is for a Fd course integrated onto a 3-4 year mech eng (i'm sure i still get funded for all of it, cus manchester does and QMUL and brunel)
money isn't an issue. my offer for that is C in maths DEE which i already have in my other courses so mainly needing the C in maths.
Greenwich looks nice but i know nothing of it and at the moment don't have time to visit and don't know anyone who studied there etc and want to know the quality of teaching etc, but from the offer they gave me it seems they either really want me or are desperate? simply EE in maths and physics ...so an unconditional?
which should i use as my insurance? -
Re: city or greenwich mech eng??
You need to look at more than just the location.
Brunel has an excellent engineering school, I wouldn't be so quick to rule it out. It's certainly superior to City and Greenwich for engineering.
Greenwich has a very attractive campus, and the area is very nice, but the university itself is generally ranked as one of the worst in the UK. So yes, I'd say they were a bit desperate. :P
I'd definitely go for City over Greenwich. -
Re: city or greenwich mech eng??Also consider that Greenwich scored REALLY high in the RAE2008 in Mechanical Engineering!(Original post by pshewitt1)
also i love london but also love greenwich campus, don't know surrounding area though
But I think that the graduate prospects are not so good=/
