Re: Official Nottingham 2012 Firmers!!Nope, it is stated somewhere that you can only apply for accommodation if it's your firm.(Original post by kiai8)
I'm sure you can apply even if it's your insurance? I could be wrong though! -
Re: Official Nottingham 2012 Firmers!!I'm studying Medicine too! I'm in Hugh Stewart though.(Original post by cpt.doofus)
I'm gonna be studying Medicine this September (if I get the grades of course) and I'll be in Florence Boot =D -

Re: Official Nottingham 2012 Firmers!!
Just a question, I've never studied in a country with a three-term system before. It says that your spring term ends the 22nd of march, but the following summer term doesn't start until the 22nd of april. Do you really have four weeks off? Or are any of those weeks like "reading weeks" or something? I need to know this so I can apply for student aid (in my homecountry).
I'm a masters student btw. -
Re: Official Nottingham 2012 Firmers!!
Just wondering if anyone's bought their reading list yet? I'm unsure whether I should- especially as I have no idea how my A-Levels will turn out! The website said they expect me to read some texts before I start in September and i'm worried the delivery of all the books will take to long and I won't be able to read them all!

Not till i know im in,ill have a month to read after results day,if i get in.(Original post by jojayne)

Re: Official Nottingham 2012 Firmers!!Not sure where you're staying, but I had to email Broadgate Park about an alternate payment plan because I'm dependant on the loan to pay for my accomodation! I'd email/call your accomodation now to try and save any bother in September.(Original post by Ps3SuperSRG)
You know accommodation guys, aren't we supposed to send an email soon saying payment is dependant on student living loan, cos don't we need to start to pay a deposit soon?
Help appreciated!

-
Yh thanks. Its basically ecology, with animals in their ecosystems, throwing in a bit of biochemistry and some maths statistics as well(i screwed up maths at As!(Original post by jojayne)

Haha you're brave to have chosen maths in the first place! GCSE Maths was enough for me :P I know me too, nervous but excited all at once! I think most people are like that but English with Creative Writing is meant to be really good as a degree. I was so indecisive- first it was Speech and Language therapy and then I was interested in Linguistics. But I think I would have always ended up doing English anyway
-
Have you sorted your accommodation yet? I sorted it out in may and got cavendish hall, but some of my friends did it late and haven't been given a specific hall yet, they've been told they will find out after results day when some firmers miss out and free up rooms! Sounds quite bad tbh, especially reminding me that i may still miss out(Original post by jojayne)

Re: Official Nottingham 2012 Firmers!!Yep all sorted, I'm at St Peters Court - which i'm slightly regretting as it's so far from the English building! Oh no, yeah that doesn't make me feel great either. Fingers crossed exams go well and are rooms stays ours! I'm freaking out about my grades, my teachers predicted me so high, but my exams went...(Original post by Ps3SuperSRG)

but hopefully all goes to plan. It's nice you have people you know going Nottingham, all my friends are deserting me for the London unis.

Oh don't worry,im sure you'll make LOADS of new friends, only 2 others from my school are coming anyway. Is the English department at the Trent building, i think that's where languages is at. The science area looks quite depressing compared to languages! If its any consellation, cavendish hall all the way at the most westerly point at uni park, and science is at the east side. Hmmm
gona be quite a daily trek...... And when it snows or rains
,well it'll be interesting to say the least

Yep Trent Building, it was really grand and fancy inside if I remember rightly, I felt a tad out of place
Ah no! hopefully how pretty the rest of Nottingham is will make up for it! Me too, me too, my room is so far from Trent Building. It must be so far for you! It will be interesting to see how we make it to the 9am lectures!- oh I didn't think about it snowing. I have zero balance when it's snowing it doesn't show me at my most gracious- if you see a girl clinging onto anything mobile and trying not to slip than it's most definitely me
-
Im quite a heavy sleeper and it takes at least 2 hours till im fully awake. Sleepiness + ice=hospital. Oh well, whatever happens,im sure we'll have fun,and not look like complete fools(Original post by jojayne)
